Let Your Light So Shine Before Others…
We were created to be conduits of grace. God doesn’t just rain down grace from the heavens, he distributes it through us. Why? Because he wants us to be like him. And if his grace doesn’t flow through us, we never will.
“Let your light so shine before others that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
~Matthew 5:16

We make a grave error, however, if we assume letting our light shine means letting it shine on us. Too many Christians are smugly self-satisfied w/ what they have accomplished, when whatever they may have accomplished is the work of God alone. We must not fall into this trap.
Your observation is not limited to just Christians, but unfortunately it is true for most of the human beings in general.
Amen, Anna.
Yes for every religion this holds true…we are all connected!
Let your light so shine before men that your light so shine so that we might know kindness again…
Your turn! Sing it!
Do you mean the version from Godspell, Martha? If so, I’m singing it now!
💟🙏
Matthew 5:16 has been my guiding light since I was a sophomore in high school 1957. There is no other way to live!
Rarely do I encounter others who were sophomores in 1957. In the selection of life verses, you chose well.
By knowing ourselves better, right?
Matthew 5:16 was one of the first verses I memorized when I was a new believer. Your post dovetails so beautifully with the sermon my husband preached this morning.
Delighted to hear that, Cindie.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen 🙌
