The Wind in the Willows
40 Delightful Animal Caricatures
I drew caricatures as a kid, and still do on occasion (two below are mine—be kind, I’m an amateur). Anyway, since I also love animals, I thought, “Why not combine the two?” Of course, most of these are anthropomorphic, i.e., they have human-like traits. Because we humans tend to make everything about us. (P.S. Check out these marvelous caricature artists’ sites: animaland, osoq.com, and nebelschaf-studio.)

Enjoyed these. Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure, Anonymous friend.
These are cool…I wish I would have been blessed with that ability…
In first year High School my English teacher – a nun Sr Magdalen – actually read the whole Wild in the Willows book to the class. She would have made a superb actress, bringing all of its wonderful characters to life for us. A favourite magical book ..
🧡 It truly is, Therese.
all are very nice… you sure you’re an amateur, I think they’re excellent
Thank you, MV, but just to be clear, I only created two of the pictures.
I still have my hardcover copy of “The Wind in the Willows” with the pictures you referenced in it. It’s a little worse for the wear, but still immensely enjoyable!
Yes, it’s a wonderful little book, Belinda, and that illustrated edition is particularly delightful!
Anthropomorphic animals: a man after my own heart. Good to know.
