What a strange era we find ourselves in. 2025 is, in many ways, comparable to the world war years. Reminders of human mortality assault us daily. Still, death has always been with us, as Seneca the Younger observed in the first century A.D. Yet just as we are not alone in life, neither are we alone in death.
“For such is God, our God forever and ever; and He will guide us beyond death.” ~Psalm 48:14

I now believe death is one of the many lies we have been told .. leaving this earth in the physical is not the end I can clearly see and feel in so many ways since I lost my son.. I feel like there is noway it’s a finality, noway our spirit is not the biggest part of us and carries on in the most profound way . When I remove myself from grief and emerge into connection I’m so profoundly moved and have been shown more than I ever imagined that I can no longer see death but instead a change, a transformation, a deliverance and an unmistakeable sense I was told and taught the wrong information.
This may not resonate with you or anyone but it has been an experience I cherish so much, like a gift to my heart .

I could post all day and not top this
Why, thank you, Max.
the lord is my shepherd ~psalm 23:39
That’s Psalm 23:1, Rudy. But Psalm 23:39 is beautiful too.

Hope your recovery from surgery is going well!
So far so good, Tansy!
I don’t understand why people fear death, because it’s when we get to heaven to greet God and all who have died before us. Yes, He will guide us, and that is both comforting and exciting.

Amen🙏
Amen!!!
Death is the one truth that we appear to ignore. In short, we die, not dying — see The Death of Ivan Ilych by Leo Tolstoy https://web.stanford.edu/~jsabol/existentialism/materials/tolstoy_death_ilyich.pdf. Thanks for the reminder Mitch. Take care, Julian
And thank you for the very apt Tolstoy quote, Julian.
Around me there are many people who are near death, each facing it in such different ways. Thank you for these words which touch the frightened, the angry, the welcoming, the joyful, the accepting.
🧡
A reassuring phrase! Thank you

So true
Sadly, many of us in England, UK seem to have forgotten how to grieve. How to express grief. It’s all about control and not showing grief. Makes for problems later on during the grieving process.
Great point, Margaret.
Such comfort in the knowledge that when we face that last great unknown, death, Jesus will be with us. The joyful, peaceful home-going of countless saints before us proves the fact: we have nothing to fear.

An idea that has given me comfort, acceptance and understanding is that there can be no Ressurection without death occuring first.
I get that, Carl.
