    People are indeed a problem.

  2. Thank you vor breaking the recent tension with some levity. It’s a great compilation and it puts the subject of politics into perspective. Gonna tweet it. VMK

  3. I like this one by Mark Twain – “Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.”
    We need to put this in a funny light. There’s nothing serious about politics.

  4. jeffw5382 says:

    If one is in search of the truth. One must be willing to find that you were wrong all along.

  5. Very good… well quoted. 🙂

  6. Jon Stewart is a genius.

  7. We simply have to make serving one’s country in the form of public office a high calling and an honor. This will require removing many of the temptations for the accumulation of wealth, and perhaps training in effective leadership and ethics, and evidence of having studied history and geography….a lot to ask, but not too much to pray for :).

    Etymology of the word “politics”

    Poly = many
    Tics = blood sucking parasites.

    As for the nature of politics, it is dangerous to laugh at politics and take comedy seriously. That is why we are in the mess we are in. Our priorities Nd vLues are screwed up.

    Possibly one of the most astute statements of the election I heard was saying this:

    The media took Trump literally, but not seriously. The public took Trump seriously, but not literally.
