We love our home. No, it’s not in any tourist guides. But it has Us built into it. We miss it when we travel. We don’t fit right in hotel beds. We miss our kitchen and bathroom with everything right where it’s supposed to be and nothing missing because we “forgot to pack it.”
And yet, periodically, we get cabin fever and long to escape to places that are nothing like our home. To relish their beauty and uniqueness. To breath their alluring air. Only by leaving home, and then returning, can we appreciate that their really is…

I’d prefer a log cabin in the wood as long as it had Internet, electricity, and I could order groceries, All I would need are the woodland creatures for company,
Boy, that really roughing it, Rasma. ;>)
Spectacular images-but you’re right-there’s no place like home. 🙂
Amazing
Awesome
There is an allure in travel that takes us to places inside ourselves we could never have anticipated. Home, thank goodness, gives us a safe place to land and reflect about it all.
Exactly, VJ.
You had me at the “No place like home” clip, and I sighed in deep relaxation at a couple of your gorgeous photos. There really isn’t anywhere like home, when family is there. Nostalgic tears… Love what we have while we have it, and thank God for His generous grace.
Amen, Anne. Our real home is with Him.
Yes home is the best place, especially the part about knowing where everything is 😉. I spent 24 hours in Paris once. I also toured the Neuschwanstein castle, which is located in Austria.
OK so the castle is actually in Bavaria near the Austrian border. My visit occurred in 1963, and the tour bus might have dipped south of the German border.
Glad you made it home, comrade.
Wow, I want to go to many of the places you showed, Mitch. Did you take all the photos except the ones you credited? Very impressive images.
Oh, no, Miriam. I wish! I didn’t take any of them, just gathered and curated.
Wonderful selections, Mitch!
The way I see it Abraham Lincoln never traveled outside the U.S. and am I better than Abraham Lincoln? Not by a long shot. So I am OK with staying put.
Goodish point, Geo.
Not really. But that is what I like throw out when people ask me why I have never left the country. Thanks, M.
Gotcha. My “Goodish” was intended in the Geo-spirit.
Haha ok. I get it.
Wow, awesome photo’s
Agreeing wholeheartedly to your point, if you never leave, you have less appreciation for your home, (comfort & security combined) but oh my, ….those scenes, one after the other, …like an overdose of beauty, … this a world offers us magnificent treasures, nature wise especially, … scrolling back to view the sights again, ….💫🦋💫
The best part of traveling is returning home.
I do get cabin fever and I agree that there is no place like home. Thank you for the “in my dreams” photo slide show. What a beautiful world God has given us!
Amen to that, Sheryl!
I love traveling, yet we only have to be gone two or three days, and I’ll be counting the days until we’re home.
I have always wanted to to spend time in a cave which has water flowing over it as it bounces down to the ravine below which is filled with country flowers flowing in the air. That’s my quiet place.
Unique, but peaceful-sounding.
Wow , what a beautiful pictures of amazing place . I have a dream I have cabin in mountain , to live there in the peace and magic of beauty of nature 🍄🟫
Ahhhh.
It is true what they say absences makes the heart grow fonders. The comforts of home is not excluded.
Always enjoy looking at your photographs.
So happy to provide, Susanne.
The longer I live here, the more I love my home and know just how very blessed we are to have. Traveling can be enjoyable, but knowing where everything is at home and having that comfort is priceless.
That picture labeled “Hold Me” is amazing! Is that a real place? If so, where is it?
Those views are beautiful! And the Easter Island in Chile is on my bucket list to visit one day!
Love the photos! My favorites are the rainbow over the waterfall (in Argentina) and the auroras.
Oh those images! Stunning. My husband and I toured the country in an RV. We got to see our beautiful , quirky, astonishing Nation. But you’re right there is no place like. Home!
“Only by leaving home, and then returning, can we appreciate that their really is”
This is very true! Very much enjoying your posts!
Delighted to hear that, Hannah!

Best regards.
Well said, my friend. And best regards to you.
Being able to go to far-off beautiful places helps is appreciate what we do have, especially when those we love the most are nearby.
Blessings
Exactly, Pete.
