    Yes, I must be what I believe, even when it’s hard. Years ago, when I was agnostic, almost an atheist, I prayed and asked the Creator to show me if He exists, and to show me which religion, if any, is true. In due time, I was shown that Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In the Bible, Jesus said that no one can come to the Father, except through Him. He also said that narrow is the way that leads to eternal life, and few there be that find it. Christ taught His followers to pray only to our Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, and never to pray to any other person, ‘saint’, or idol. He taught us that we are saved by grace alone, through our faith in Jesus, in His completed work on the cross, and that we are not saved by any works of righteousness which we have done. Our works, according to scripture, reflect our inner nature, and our inner nature is changed to do good works, through our salvation in Christ and the infilling and empowerment of His Holy Spirit. In the Bible, Christ said to call no man ‘Father,’ and He told His followers that Mary, His earthly mother, and His brothers, were no more special than any other Christian believers. Therefore, I cannot fellowship any longer, in good conscious, with someone who in any way promotes a religion that advocates a works righteousness, praying to ‘saints’ and to the ‘mother of God,’ and calling priests ‘Father’.

    I will miss you. But I must be what I believe.

    My church this year has a simple theme: GROW. This acronym is for “God’s Righteousness” and “Our Willingness.” Out of an attendance of 50-60 people, we had seven come forward at our invitation.

    Our pastor from the church on the much damaged Sanibel Island was in a coffee shop in Fort Myers where people were gathered around a TV watching the news of the hurricane. He mentioned that he was a “refugee” from Sanibel who had lost his home, then went and sat down. The waiter came up to him and asked, “Why are you so calm? You just lost everything!” He introduced himself and said he was the pastor of Sanibel Community Church, and before he could say any more, the waiter said, “OHhh .. you’ve got God, that explains it,” and walked away. 😏👍 He read the Christian.

    It is true that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few: one third of the world’s food crop is wasted each year while one quarter of its people go hungry.

        I believe he was speaking in metaphor, and about both.

        He would hardly have looked into a wheat field full of workers and pronounced those words.

        Now let’s talk about your tendency to pick apart a well intended agreeable contribution with negativity, turning it instead into an opportunity for persnickety “correction” and potential argument.

        Is that your style , as a Christian? To discourage when encouragement would be much more constructive?

        I also notice that you manage to avoid the main issue presented ~ world hunger ~ completely. Neatly done.

        Yes, all in all, I think that your overwhelmingly compassionate and entirely ascended self probably should be running around gratuitously correcting tiny minor points in other people’s contributions. You go.
