Thought for the Week
Like faithful friends, the following quotes have served as reminders, “rules” if you will, to keep me going when success seemed unattainable. May they serve you as well.
Failure is the key to success. Yada-yada. I hate that, don’t you? Nevertheless, it’s true. But wait, what about those stories of people for whom success came easily? Have you read the follow-up accounts? Their success always seems to turn to misery. Why? Because…
Failure is the key to maturity (if we allow it to be). And maturity is the key to true success. As James said 2,000 years ago:

If there’s anything worse than failing on the way to success, it’s succeeding on the way to failure. I’d rather be a will-be than a has-been, wouldn’t you?
And finally, remember:

oh…perspective right there, Mitch, “succeeding on the way to failure”…love that cautionary message…thank you! 😉
My pleasure, Vicki!
🥰🥰🥰
These are wise thoughts, Mitch. Success that isn’t hard to win is more easily lost. But you already said that. 😊
Maybe, but I like the way you put it, David.
Great quote Churchill’s words are always inspiring and insightful. This is one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing.
Happy to do so, my friend.
Incredibly humbling
I’m really good at failing … 😉
;>)
Me too, Andrew.
As always-great advice. 🙂
Accepting one’s manifold failures makes life a whole lot easier.
All so true, Mitch.
🤩
Mitch, what an amazing share of wisdom and truth! Instead of “here here” I’ll say, “Here, here, here”! 3 great cheers indeed! Thank you, dear friend!
Well, then, thank you, thank you, thank you, Karla.
Aw! ♥️♥️♥️
My pleasure times 3!
I love how you intertwine scriptures with your articles. Excellent post as always!😊🙏
Thank you, Anonymous.
Love these quotes. Yes, I’d much rather be a will-be!
Great advice Mitch!
Thanks, T!
My whole life I have failed. My whole life I have tried to be better afterwards.
I haven’t read it but your post reminds me of a book my mother spoke warmly of titled “Advice from a Failure” by Jo Coudert.

Excellent… This brought to mind a coach at our high school who never let the bad reviews get to him…after a lost game. I asked him how he did that. His answer, “Well, I do what I believe God wants me to do, so the reviews don’t matter to me, good or bad.”
Wise man.
Love the last reminder.
Wonderful quotes, well done!
Thank you, Mary.
Thanks for the wise words of encouragement, Mitch!
My privilege, Peggy.
