I grew up near the beach in Southern California. Honestly, I didn’t go all that often once I grew up. But I liked knowing I could. The 2020 pandemic made me feel that way about the whole world. And this year? Due to a twice rescheduled medical procedure, we have no vacation plans. So, here are a few places I may never actually visit. I just want to know that I can!

I’ll be having my first biologic infusion (for Crohn’s) Monday, but I’ll be praying for your procedure that day. . . .
My prayers continue to go out for you, Joy. Good luck. 🙂
And I’ll be praying for yours, Joy!❤️🙏
Back at you, Joy! 🙏
I’ll pray for you too, Joy!
There’s this guy name Rick Steves. He would be impressed with your list!
P.S. > praying for total success for your procedure and a quick recovery! 🙏🏼👍🏼
Thank you, Scott!
Those are all beautiful places Mitch. Now I want to seem them all too. I grew up in Southern California too. I was at the beach ALL the time. Anywhere from Seal Beach to Laguna was my playground. 🙂
My neck of the
woodsbeaches, Jeanne!SWEET! I grew up in Pasadena. How about you?
La Mirada.
How funny. I worked in La Habra, at the Chevron facility. 🙂
I ran their corporate kitchen and did all their catering.
Who knows, Jeanne, we may have seen each other somewhere along the line!
I’m thinking the same thing. 🙂
Awesome pictures, sorry about your medical procedure and lack of vacation, pray for fast recovery 🙏
Thanks, L.G.
Oh so lovely! I’d say pick a place and plan it, my friend. (Praying for you all over again. But you knew we would!)🌷
Thank you, Carol.
Best of luck on your procedure and many blessings. Lovely photos of wonderful places but this year my summer memories have overwhelmed me and all I really would love is lying in that green field among those sheep, SIGH
Thank you, Rasma. There’s something so peaceful about grazing sheep — from a distance anyway. ;>)
Can I come along?
Why not, Kathy!
You’re better off staying away from the cliffs and going for a nice relaxing stroll across the foot bridge with the geese. I’m still praying for you, Mitch. 🙂
Thank you, dear Nancy.
All the best to you, Mitch. Prayers for a safe and successful procedure. I, too, know what it’s like to postpone (leaky) bucket-list plans for medical issues.
<3
Come visit the Scottish borders too when you visit the Kelpies. Praying for your health this week 🙏
Thank you, Morag. And, yes, my wife and I hope to visit Scotland in the next year or two.
That’s something to look forward to, there are so many places to go to.👌💫
Beautiful pictures. I prayed for a good outcome and your comfort during and after the medical procedure.
Thank you so much, Harry.
Lovely images, Mitch!
Praying for quick recovery. 🙏
Thank you, T.
My pleasure.
A very positive conceptual way to approach the breadth of God’s creation.
Thank you, Don.
Praying for your procedure, it’s aftermath and the minimizing of any pain involved.
No apostrophe. I must really be an 80 year old self editor.
Youre forgiven ;>)
And thank you, Bob.
It is a great list of suggestions. I’ve been to some of them, mostly the ones in Europe. But I will try to visit some other ones.
Prayers, Mitch!
Thanks, GP!
Surgical procedures are fickle things, often scarier prior than after. Take care. You and your wife are in my thoughts. May it be a simple, classic textbook-style procedure, with an extraordinary recovery. It will be challenging for your wife… I send my love to her. The meds they’ll give you, may send you on some flights to see the sights… safe travel in your dreams. Blessings 🙏
Thank you, Tansy!
I grew up here in south africa, in a place called Shelly Beach; i spent most of my teenage years by the beach.
When we moved to a township, my parents were beating me every day for walking about 15 km and back to the beach via main road
Nice post. But, are you earning any money from this blog? If not, you can visit my website and start using AI for this.
Mitch, I could feel my whole body relaxing while going through the slide show. Would love to vacay in any of those places.
I watch a YouTube channel, “Fly Scout Rider,” where he (Diego) bicycles across the U.S. and he just had an episode where he rode through Zion National Park. Impressive place! Also, they just released a movie on Netflix, “Untamed,” that is set in Yosemite.
“There’s such a lot of world to see!” (Moon River)
Beem to Lake Como. In Italy. Beautiful!Ate truffles by the lake. The best truffles ever! 😋
Want to go to the Arches too and Greece. 😊 and the fairy pools in Scotland! Yes! And Ireland.
So much of this amazing world to see!
Praying that all goes well with your procedure and for a speedy recovery.
💕
Beauty can be enjoyed if you have a clean heart, a very beautiful view
I’ve actually been to some of them, Mitch! When we were at
at Ang Kor Wat at sunrise, the sun didn’t show up. Nonetheless, watching the temple emerge from the dark and mist was an amazing experience. As someone above said, plan one (or a couple that are close together) and do it.
You will emerge from the mist of your procedure, take the time you need to recover, and be ready to tackle anything! Honest! God cares. He wouldn’t ignore so many prayers! 🙏🙏❤️
Bless you, Gail.
Thank you for the armchair world-tour, Mitch. So much beauty in this world! I’ve only seen one place among your many images: the Garden of Gethsemane. Now THAT (one week in Israel) was a memorable trip if ever there was one! / Continuing to pray the procedure goes even better than expected!
Thank you, dear friend.
Sometimes, we love a place and would go their even once a year.
Mitch, thank you for taking us to these amazing places through these incredible photographs! Prayers for your procedure and recovery, dear friend.🙏🥰
Thank you so much, dear Karla.
My pleasure, dear friend. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
does mitch has pen & paper
Bibury is nice as is the whole Cotswolds region. There are many beautiful places to see in England and Scotland. I got to visit Rye last summer. It is easy to get to by train from London. Unfortunately Mermaid Street was being torn up at the time to replace pipes it appeared. Plans don’t always pan out. My summer plans had to be altered due to an injury. I made one short trip this week. Life sometimes throws curve balls. Health is important.
It is indeed, Sharon. Sorry to hear about the injury.
Continued prayers for your procedure and a speedy recovery, Mitch!
Thanks for the beautiful world tour!
Thank you so much, Peggy, and you’re welcome.
Beautiful nature pic 👌
Awesome images!
I haven’t been to these places except maybe one. That last picture looks like Hawaii, and I have been there.
Wow! Those are some amazing pictures.
May the dreams come true.
May God always fill your life with good health so that you travel to beautiful places. Don’t forget to share the places along with your friends Mitch!
Will do, Ramani!
Sorry to hear about your medical procedure!
Best of luck, dear Mitch.
PS: The photos you shared are fabulous.
Thank you so much, Luisa.
You’re very welcome, Mitch!
You’re on my prayer list.
Thank you, Venus.
For all the wonderful places on Anita’s and my bucket list that we would like to visit before we leave for Heaven, we read Randy Alcorn’s book, “Heaven,” and are looking forward even MORE to the beauty of a New heavens and a New Earth!

Very creative blog post! For how long are you travel writing?
I only write about travel occasionally.
Would love to read more travel articles from you. If you are interested I really recommend to check out the Travel Journalism Master Program. It’s a very creative place to connect with fellow travel writers and journalists. https://www.skool.com/digital-nomad-academy-6519/about
I’ll check it out.
That’s awesome! Looking forward to connect.
WOW!
I hope your procedure goes well.
Thank you, Damari.
Driving to the beach in So Cal is a nightmare now.
