    I like when life gives me some dots to connect… been battling with giving up writing. But somehow it is what I do, it reflects my belief in this life…

    A to the MEN! Is “Joan of Lorraine” a play? And if so, would we also know her as Joan of Arc?

      Yes, it’s a play about Joan of Arc. Anderson was a highly-regarded playwright during the mid-20th century, but his plays aren’t often produced these days.

        He’s associated with a shortlived revival of blank verse, particularly his critically acclaimed plays ‘Winterset’ and ‘High Tor.’ He co-wrote the screenplay for ‘Saint Joan’ (1948) adapted from ‘Joan of Lorraine’ — but hated what they did with it, saying they turned Joan into “a plaster saint” and that Ingrid Bergman’s performance was [insert curse-laden insult here]. He wrote plays like ‘The Bad Seed’ and ‘Ann of a Thousand Days’ that were later turned into hit movies (by others), as well the screenplays for early talky classics ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ and ‘Death Takes a Holiday.’ So, no shrinking violet he.
