Cows ruminate, which means to bring their food back up and chew it some more. A cow that doesn’t do this thoroughly is unable to properly digest its food, and suffers. We humans ruminate too, only we do it with words and ideas. But sometimes we fail to thoroughly ruminate upon the ideas we encounter, and suffer (and make others suffer, as well). To paraphrase a familiar motto, we all need to remember to Just chew it!
