Hurray for Today!

Some great things have happened on March 2nd!

Old Woman (pinterest.com)First, the current episode of The Wishing Map “An Angel Ignito was posted today!

Seuss-AwardSecond, Dr. Seuss, Theodor Geisel, was born on this date in 1904, and quite by accident discovered he was destined to create the wonderfullest stories ever! Why? Because underneath, where it really counts, his stories have love in ginormous amounts!

MBDKIKO EC012Notzilla-photo-2-768x425Next, King Kong premiered on this date in 1933. And if that bad boy hadn’t picked up Fay Wray and climbed the Empire State Building, our world would have been a sadder place. Right? I mean, heck, we’d never have had Godzilla! Or my own “cult classic” feature film Notzilla, for that matter! And speaking of spoofs…

This is Spinal Tap, one of the funniest movies ever made, premiered on this date in 1982. At first, moviegoers didn’t get it, and ignored this mockucumentary about “the world’s loudest band.” But I did. In fact, Spinal Tap helped shape (some might say twisted) my sense of humor forever. Yours? And now it’s a bona fide classic!

Here’s the original trailer:

  4. Spinal Tap and their brand of humor would’ve been an interesting addition to Notzilla. 🙂

hard to believe but I never saw that movie! I was of age and all, with the loud rock and roll, but it just slipped by. I’ll have to look it up this weekend.
