Heaven or Hell?

my_heaven_is_your_hell_by_r3v4n

Heaven is often represented as a reward, a perfect place for the righteous to dwell in. But it’s not the reward I seek. I’d rather be in Hell with God than in Heaven without him. Of course, that’s not possible, because it’s his presence that makes Heaven Heaven. My goal is not his presents.

It’s his Presence.

  1. Nice reminder of the reason for the season 🙂

    Happy Sunday!

  2. Badfinger (Max) says:

    Wonderful statement Mitch.

  3. Phil Strawn says:

    I definitely don’t want to be in Hell because there will be too many people I don’t care to associate with. Stalin, Hitler, on and on. Hopefully, in Heaven, God let Lenny Bruce into the fold.

  4. Beautiful! His presence is our presents. Nothing could bring us more joy.

  5. G.W. says:

    Interesting.
    But heaven isn’t a reward given to the righteous. Our being there is God’s gift to Jesus for His work via the cross. That’s why we are to be in Christ. Without Christ none of us are there.
    However, I absolutely agree with the sentiments of your thought. I don’t want to be where God is not.

    This reminds me of how Jesus defined eternal life. With him, we can endure anything the world can throw at us.

  7. Thanks Mitch🙏
    You’ve reminded me one of my
    favourite King David quotes …

    “You will show me the path of life;
    In Your presence is fullness of joy;
    At Your right hand are pleasures
    forevermore.” ~ Psalm 16:11
