For Their Own Good

Riley, 'Inside Out' (goat.com.au)

Have you ever deceived someone ‘for their own good,’ only to have the plan blow up in your face?”

~The Wishing Map

When our cookie-loving kids were little, we decided to introduce them to “broccoli cookies.” Our clever little deception backfired horribly. From then on, any “cookie” that was green (or yellow or red) and crunchy or steamed, was to be avoided like a hand grenade!

  1. This looks like a scene from a movie that I read some commentary about. They changed the vegetables in the movie. In that country, kids hate peas but they like broccoli because it is steamed or stir fried. So the vegetables were changed to peas to make the scene more relatable.

Green cookies? Then again avoiding cookies is probably a not such a parental failure after all.

Lol, my nephew caught me indulging in my only Snickers, he was three. He asked “what’s that”? Bread, l said. His response, “that’s not bread, that’s chocolate”. I said “it it is, you want some”? Side note, l used to be hooked on Snickers. 😂

My poor kids had broccoli in their smoothies, soup, and other dishes. They don’t know and I didn’t tell them. I think it’s working well for me, so far. LOL 😝

  7. You never know how kids will react. Love this! 😂
