Five Years Ago This Week

In May of 2020, Healing Rivermy first feature film as a writer-director, premiered on Amazon Prime. After winning over twenty major festival awards, it became one of Prime’s highest-rated inspirational dramas. And it remains so to this day. Since then, Healing River’s message of forgiveness and “impossible love” has impacted millions of viewers. I’m inviting you to watch Healing Riveror see it again–tonight! (If you’re not in North America, you may find it on a different streaming channel.)

May I also encourage you to rate the movie (and review it, if you wish) at Amazon and IMDb? (Note: it’s important to rate some other films on IMDb as well, or your rating will be ignored.) New ratings cause Amazon and other streamers to promote Healing River to new viewers!

It’s wonderful how the Holy Spirit works! Praise be to God! This very morning, He, the Holy Spirit, prompted me to search to learn more about you, your work (e.g., director, producer), and your works (e.g., screenplays, movies). I was pleasantly surprised that “Healing River” came up and from what I read about it, it’s a highly rated and recommended faith based film. Congratulations, and may the Lord richly bless you for it. May it bring others to faith in Jesus Christ so that their lives are well lived too.

May you continue in His grace and grow in His grace, may your faith in Christ Jesus grow, and may you continue to be an inspiration to lead others to Jesus Christ. For we know that it’s all about Jesus! All glory belongs to God!

When I received your post in my email, I kept it as a reminder to watch your film when we had some time. Jim and I watched Healing River this afternoon.

Oh my, Mitch! This is a very special film. The messages, the symbolism, the music were so profoundly meaningful. The characters were real and genuine, broken like the rest of us. I was emotional throughout the story for a variety of reasons–through scenes of grief, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, surprising joy. And I actually burst into tears when I learned that you had written the music, too.

Mitch, you are so very talented, and I thank you for using your gifts for God’s glory. I am so grateful we have connected as writing friends.

  33. Lori Pohlman says:

What a wonderful accomplishment, Mitch. I look forward to seeing it!
