If the Earth Loses We All Lose
Yesterday was Earth Day. But in truth, every day is Earth Day. Amid escalating conflicts and nations warring against nations, there’s one thing we can–and must–all agree on: In the end, only one war matters — the war against our planet. Because if the earth loses, we all lose.

“The ultimate test of man’s conscience may be his willingness to sacrifice something today for future generations whose words of thanks will not be heard.” ~Gaylord Nelson
“If you watch the world in silence, you will have more chance to understand how the world is a miraculous ship! It is totally up to man that this blue ship continues its travel in the infinity of the universe together with all its passengers!” ~Mehmet Murat ildan
“Only the most arrogant, shortsighted, and spiritually bereft of our species would say that, at any cost to other species, we need only worry about our own.” ~Timothy Walker
“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.” ~Mahatma Gandhi
“By day the banished sun circles the earth like a grieving mother with a lamp.” ~Cormac McCarthy
“If you want to be reminded of the love of the Lord, just watch the sunrise.” ~Jeannette Walls

To the wild wood and the downs —
To the silent wilderness
Where the soul need not repress its music”
~Percy Bysshe Shelley
“Someday, I hope that we will all be patriots of our planet and not just of our respective nations.”

👏👏👍
Such a great reminder that we are stewards of this planet. Thank you, Mitch!
My privilege, Wynne!
The latest David Attenborough TV series in the UK, Secret Garden, celebrates the wildlife in our own gardens, and is fabulous, humbling and inspiring. Our planet is beautiful, and we really need to protect it for future generations.
Amen, Emma!
“It is totally up to man that this blue ship continues its travel in the infinity of the universe together”
Do you really subscribe to that world view?
Depends on what you mean, Booky. If you’re asking whether I consider us stewards of the earth, yes, I do. But there’s far more to my worldview than that.
Well said, every day is Earth Day!
💚
I love it when you make these slideshows, no matter the subject. . . There is so very much wonderful about our planet ! Love the Antelope Valley picture – the surprizing impossible forms and colors, it looks like taffy being pulled
💚
We’ve not done well with that which we’ve been entrusted. Wildness, wonder, beauty, brains, choices…we have no one to blame for the damages and degradation but ourselves. Thanks for this amazing post.
My privilege, Rita. 💚
The earth we are currently terraforming in plastic with plans for AI data centers to consume masses of water and energy….it seems our system is divorcing us from nature and building a world more toxic to humans, every day. Our hope lies in individuals making decisions to not go along to just get along. We need to resist the tech titans and bring back some balance, you know, common sense…
Dear Mitch,
I concur with joyindestructible. Thank you for your timely and profound tribute to Mother Earth!
In return, I would like to share with you a pertinent illustration as follows:

May we appreciate Mother Earth for all her nurturing!
Yours sincerely,

Thank you, SE!
Very well said, Mitch!
Keep writing!
Thank you, and will do, Barnardhya.
Yes, so very important
Every day is earth day. We are to be good stewards of what God has given us. In that, thank you for the images. I always appreciate the pictures.
My pleasure, San.
Love this Mitch, especially Gandhi, Weil and Walls. And I agree, everyday is Earth day!
💚
The Gandhi quote is quite convicting!
It is indeed, Todd!
Beautiful post, Mitch, and the quote by Mahatma Gandhi is very apt. I agree every day is Earth Day.
💚
😊
A few days back there was a prompt about what makes you nervous. Underneath it’s my trust in humankind as well as capitalism.
We make so many short-term decisions and not think about our planet.
For me every day, it’s Earth Day that’s why I decided to become vegan a long time ago.
Have a great Earth day
You too, Mark.
This Earth is a gift to us from God, and He expects us to take care of it and all the animals. We can’t do that just 1 day each year. Every day we must make decisions to help our world and everyone in it.
Exactly, Janet.
On top of the everyday life of all of us that Gaia has to contend with, war brings constant destruction of fertile land for food and pollution to the air we all have to breathe.
I quite agree with you! Thank you for your wonderful suggestion!
💚
I couldn’t agree more!
If only large corporations and the government would listen. When people started creating chemicals it was the beginning of the end.
Yes! Every day is Earth Day!
Absolutely.
What I don’t understand is the mindless littering. Fabulous images, Mitch. Gaylord Nelson’s quote is powerful. 🙂
You’re absolutely right, Mitch.
Well said, Mitch. Yes, Earth Day is everyday.
Earth Day – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle ♻️
Lovely! At my workplace, a community college, we were given little plants to take home. I already potted mine.
Incredible photographs. Truly a picture is worth a thousand words.

Absolutely right.
Yes, every day is Earth Day!
Wonderful range of quotes and pictures. Thanks for sharing this on World Earth Day and yes every day should be! You’ve given me my next post as I feel guilty for not taking part but was out on a trip enjoying the earth.
💚
💯👌👍🌟✨💫
Quite a juxtaposition of photos! Always love them, esp. the nature ones; Christians should be the best stewards (in the true sense) of our planet.
They should indeed, Keith.
