My Featured Blogger this week is David Peever, pastor, ministry consultant and author of the book ‘Blueprint.’ I’ve found few people who cut so effectively and authentically to the heart of what true faith is amid our modern landscape of broken churches. Read and see.

Hello Mitch: Good timing. Just posted this one this week “Quotes of Renown”
How often is the Christian church no more than a self-centered community only faintly concerned that God’s will be done in the life of the world, only faintly interested in justice and mercy for this earth’s exploited messes, but passionately devoted to our own protection and advancement as a community and, if we are piously inclined, to assuring that after a comfortable passage through this life we can look forward to a guaranteed place in the foam-rubber-padded seats of heaven.

Ouch. Truth hurts, Norm.
From what I’ve seen so far, I’d agree, he writes really interesting thought pieces.
He writes from a heart of concern with warmth and touches of humour. We are all sleeping but some (5 😊) had extra oil. Interesting to see how “church “continues. Love will. Thanks for sharing this.
My privilege.

Thank you for sharing this thought-provoking essay, Mitch.
Happy to do so, Liz.
This essay reminds me how fortunate it is to attend a caring church that meets the needs of the congregation, one that serves the community.
He sure did hit the nail on its head. Thanks for sharing, Mitch. God bless!
Missing a week of church is like going a day without a shower. You need it.
People want real Word, real Presence of God, real community. Anything less, won’t last. I’m thinking of an old beer beer commercial ‘tastes great, less filling’. 💔
