How often is the Christian church no more than a self-centered community only faintly concerned that God’s will be done in the life of the world, only faintly interested in justice and mercy for this earth’s exploited messes, but passionately devoted to our own protection and advancement as a community and, if we are piously inclined, to assuring that after a comfortable passage through this life we can look forward to a guaranteed place in the foam-rubber-padded seats of heaven.

From what I’ve seen so far, I’d agree, he writes really interesting thought pieces.
He writes from a heart of concern with warmth and touches of humour. We are all sleeping but some (5 😊) had extra oil. Interesting to see how “church “continues. Love will. Thanks for sharing this.

Missing a week of church is like going a day without a shower. You need it.
People want real Word, real Presence of God, real community. Anything less, won’t last. I’m thinking of an old beer beer commercial ‘tastes great, less filling’. 💔
