Clouds. Mist. Fog. Science tells us they’re simply collections of condensed water droplets. Over our heads. Around us. But they’re so much more than that. They’re metaphors for life itself — for its uncertainties and mysteries, for when we lose our way or face an unknown future. And yet they also capture light and color, and reveal beauty we’d otherwise have missed–in the world around and in ourselves. Clouds are full of illusions–and revelations. Like life itself.
I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It’s cloud illusions I recall
I really don’t know clouds at all

Thanks–and hello–Joe!
These images are ridiculously awesome! Praise God for our glorious earth! Thanks, Mitch. 🙂
My pleasure, Nancy.
Utterly lovely collection! 😊
Beautiful, mystical, enchanting. God’s quite the artist, isn’t He?
Indeed, God is The Artist.
I’m a definite cloud fan and not referring to Google.
;>)
Your pictures remind me of the day my sister’s baby was buried. I came home, looked up at the sky and saw light breaking through a cloud. Clouds do indeed carry mystery and the holy.
And by design, I suspect, Shirley.
It felt that way to my teenaged self, and continues to do so. Like the first double rainbow I saw on the day of my father’s death. Sky signs.
The Lakota call them the Cloud People and the Thunder Beings, and they take signs and communications from them all the time.
Heh ~ I have a history with double rainbows myself ~ we’re definitely kindred 👩❤️👩✨
Awesome pics

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure, Peggy!
Having lived in London for a couple of years, there were stretches when the sun wouldn’t be seen for several days at a time. I miss the people, but don’t miss those clouds! I need my sunshine! Please don’t take my sunshine away!
Why, that sounds like it could be a song, Scott! ;>)
There is a lot of beauty in clouds and fog. Of course that does not apply to driving in fog.
Wow! Beautiful pictures!
Clouds also echo life in that sometimes we get driven along by the winds of change.
Very true.
I 💙 clouds. Been writing about them lately. So many lessons.
Haunting images.
Great images. A cloud lover here. I think clouds grease and stretch the imagination.
Obviously, Gary, since you’ve used words quite imaginatively here in describing the process!
Indeed!
I’ve loved clouds ever since childhood when we’d look for shapes among them. (I still do, from time to time.) Your collection of photos here highlights the reason for our fascination: they are never the same twice!
Exactly!
