A Taste of Heaven

“For I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” ~Galatians 2:20

That is a beautiful, moving quote, Mitch! And Galatians 2:20! I spent a lot of time when I was young memorizing scripture – even whole chapters, and not just Psalm 23. Galatians 2:20 always brings back memories, because I distinctly remember where and when I worked on memorizing it. Long story short, a youth retreat at Glorieta, New Mexico, camp center. That scripture has been a mainstay of my faith walk ever since.

Look at the cover of “The Earth rolls on” from Billy Joe Shaver. 🙂 This Music takes you to that message.

  4. Mitch, this is a lovely, quiet offering — and it carries real Kingdom weight. Galatians 2:20 isn’t just a comforting verse; it’s the heartbeat of life under Christ’s reign. Mitch’s reflection gently reminds readers that heaven isn’t merely a future destination but a present reality for those in whom Christ lives.

Your instinct to highlight this is right on point. It’s a soft word, but it points people straight to the King and the life He forms in us.

  6. NOTHING BETTER THAN THE WORD OF GOD, MITCH! I do tend to put things in my own words in poetic form with an illustration or whatnot—but that’s just my style and longtime practice. There was a time when you were hell to be with? I don’t believe you :D-! Tell us about it—just one incident?

    I so relate.
