While It Is Still Called Today

Encourage Each Other

Thought for the Week

Brooding about our past

and worrying about our future

is the most efficient way

to ruin our present.

Instead, let us focus on the now,

and upon our fellow travelers.

And let us:

“Encourage each other every day,

while it is still called today.”

~Hebrews 3:13

  5. The old hymn, “One Day at a Time,” comes to mind. Each day, I thank Jesus for giving me one more chance by giving me one more day. Each day consists of only 24 hours – of which we spend 8-10 sleeping. In those remaining hours, minutes and seconds, we have an opportunity to share God with others. Breaking it down into one day at a time, lightens the load.

  6. Words to live by, for sure.

& hebrews 3:11 says hide the word every day, do not sin against thee, don’t tell me that verse it’s from psalm 103? god likes you, he gave encourage, to believe & have everlasting life.

  13. On reading your post, I thought of this question. Am I following God’s word to encourage my fellow-man each day by being honest to tell of what I see. Mistakes we all make. Steps we all take before reaching the top. It takes courage of a friend or a reader, to tell another when things need fixing.

  14. “…the most efficient way to ruin our present…”
    I’ll try remember that.😃

Such a gentle and necessary reminder.😊 The present is the only place life truly happens, and your words invite us back into it with grace. Encouraging one another “while it is still called today” feels like one of the simplest and deepest acts of love.

  18. Thank you for this reminder. I must confess that sometimes I brood about the future.

  19. I love this, Mitch. Much needed in the ofttimes cruel world in which we live.
