“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are producing for us an eternal weight of glory that is far beyond comparison. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
~2 Corinthians 4:16-18

very nice.
At first glance I read monetary instead of momentary – siginificant of our times perhaps…
Faith is indeed believing in that which we cannot see. Great passage and quote, Mitch.
Amen to Lewis’ quote as well. 🙂
How I long for that day. Even so, come! Lord Jesus come!
Thank you for constantly lifting our eyes to what really matters.
Blessings,
Debi
My privilege, Debi.
I’m counting on it!
Amen, Mitch! Great quote and words of truth. Blessings!
You too, dear friend.
Thank you, dear friend. 💛
One time life, so should live happily. May be whatever circumstances come in our path. Should live happily wishing best for others.👍🏻🙂
Amen my friend! I wish you the best! 💛
TQ 🙂💐
How perfect to read this beautiful sentiment on the morning of the anniversary of my close friend’s death, nine years ago today xxo

I love C. S. Lewis. This quote makes me think of the last book in the “Chronicles of Narnia,” where Narnia is being destroyed and darkness and despair seem to be taking over. But then they discover that the Narnia they have loved was only a shadow of things to come, and the REAL Narnia has arrived. (It gives me hope as I look around at the world today.)
Couldn’t agree more, Annie.
Just last week we attended the funeral service for my husband’s lovely Aunt Vera. She was 92 when she met Jesus…and SO ready to meet Him. In that context, this quote from C.S. Lewis is extra-special. Thanks for the lovely post.
My pleasure, Cindie.
This is one of my all-time “go to” verses in hospital visits or other pastoral care situations.
A perfect choice, Russell.
Thank you, C.S. Lewis!
