The Long Hot Summer
It’s finally “summtumn” in the Northern Hemisphere, the transitional season between summer and fall. It’s been a scorcher, and still is in some places. Undaunted, Trudy and I daytripped to locations with lots of shade and water. And ate lots of ice cream, of course. You too? Here’s a random-ish collection of summer images I’ve snapped along the way. Farewell, summer, and welcome, autumn!

🙏 In remembrance of those who perished on 9/11, 2001, and during the conlicts that followed.

Not to complain, Mitch, but you didn’t include a single picture of ice cream. I feel mislead.
I apologize, Tracy. I always think, “Wait, I should have taken a picture!” right after I’ve eaten the last bite.
I won’t be sad to see the back of summer, too hot for me!
Melting Men, what a fantastic picture.
Beautiful pictures and remembrance! Ice cream is always a good idea😂💓
Thank you, Cindy❣
Yes, there is a definite change in the light. The sun has turned itself back towards the south. I love the summer so am very sad to see the waning days. We are forecast a very wet winter so that makes me sad, even though we need the water.
I’ve had to modify both sunrise and dusk moseys already! Interstate 35 through Iowa is called the Monarch Highway. I rarely see hummingbirds but I saw two yesterday, so it must be about their migration month as well. And Venus is so bright, Evening Star. I used to consider October my very favorite month, but maybe it’s September.

Although I am partial to ice cream, the puppy had me, lol. Always enjoy your posts, Mitch. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure, San.
❤️❤️❤️ What a stunning photo of a beautiful lady (and the rest of the scenery is ok, too.) :-). Beautiful, dear friend. Happy Autmmer!
Aw, thank you, Karla, and likewise, dear friend❣
