This is a test of My Early Warning Blogger Burn-Out System. Were this an actual blog post, you would be instructed to take shelter in the nearest Comment box, and say wonderful things about me until the All Clear notice.
Alright, yes, this is blog post. But it’s also my oh-so-clever way of letting you know that this Wednesday I plan to not publish a blog post! (Go ahead and take a moment to weep. I understand how hard this must be for you.) Why, Mitch, oh, why? Well…
I wrote last week that I’ve become overwhelmed with daily email notifications. And so, I’m planning a midweek breather. This will buy me time to respond to previous emails and to work on other projects.
What other projects? Well, I have several books in the works, and I’ve finally found the cure for cancer. It was in a drawer in our guest room. I can’t believe I didn’t think to look there till now.
ξ

Enjoy your breather. We all need a break from all the e-mail spam, and maybe others. 🙂
Thanks, Sue.
Have a nice break, well deserved
Thanks, L.G.
Thanks for making me chuckle! 😂
My pleasure.
Enjoy the break! Selfishly I’m glad you shared this with us. Full disclosure – I always worry – is everything ok? Thank you for all of your fabulous content. It makes me think and smile!
Aw, thak you, Kiki.
Sorry you are feeling overwhelmed. Not a good feeling. But when was the last time you didn’t make a blog post?
Um, let me think…
Thank you for a really good chuckle this morning. 🙂
My pleasure, M’am.
That sounds like a wise decision, Mitch. Taking intentional time to regroup and refocus is an important part of maintaining both creativity and consistency. Your thoughtful approach to managing commitments sets a great example for other writers. Wishing you continued success with your ongoing projects and a productive, restorative break.
Thank you, John.
Breaks are necessary. Enjoy!
Thanks, Robin!
it’s quite amazing that you and some of the bloggers here can write on a daily basis. I really tip my hat to you. and also, that you do take the time to engage with your audience – that’s a massive plus.
that being said, i completely agree and support your blogging methodology especially as it relates to time spent for other bloggers and the such and creating a tiered system. my close friend has been a blogger for many years now and the degree I engage with people who take precious time out of their day to visit me is 100% derived from seeing her be a source of light for people including myself.
enjoy the break Mitch, have yourself a day, or two, or nine lol. Mike
Thanks, Mike!
the things you find in the junk drawer 🙂
;>)
😻
Here’s wishing you a good and productive day, Mitch. 🙂
Thanks, Nancy!
A break is often just what we need. 😊
From one almost-overwhelmed blogger to another, take your time! Self care is paramount. We love your posts. Send them when you feel like it.
Aw, thank you, Caroll.
So, way to go on that cancer thing. At least you have that going for you.
;>)
I used to write almost every day, but life got too busy for that, so now it’s once or twice a week. It’s sad for my regular readers (or at least I’d like to dream that), but they’ll take what they get. 🙂 If someone was willing to pay me what my blog is worth, I’d write every day, even more. It’s hard to put a number on the value of 19 years of original blog posts and over a million pageviews, but I’ll let someone try. It should probably be over a million dollars, just so we’re not wasting anyone’s time. 🙂
But I digress… actually, I should get back to writing on my blog instead of on yours! 🙂 I hope your “break” is productive.
Thanks. Write on, B o’ B!
Enjoy your break, Mitch. I’m feeling burned out again myself. I think it’s going around! Haha.
;>) It’s the writers common cold.
Oh my! LOL
Just Wednesday? I sometimes wonder where you get time to write blog posts daily. Then I remember that you have a wife, and chances are you aren’t doing the grocery shopping, the cooking, the cleaning, and the laundry.
Or maybe you are, and I’m just a pathetic loser that can’t do it all. (*eye roll*)
You can put the eyes back, Annie, you’re neither pathetic nor a loser. And, yes, I get a LOT of help from my helpmate (a.k.a. Hot Mama).
Good luck, I’ve definitely been there! Hope you’re able to refill your tank!
Thanks, Abe!
Thanks for your like of my recent post, ” Isaiah Chapters 43; your kindness is greatly appreciated.
You crack me up, Mitch! Thank you. Good luck on that cure for cancer… which reminds me, I have some drawer purging to do, too.
;>)
Enjoy your break! And I am amazed at how often you post new and funny content.
Thank you, Doval!
Checking the drawer in the guest room now.
;>)
We all need to take a breather from time to time – I’ve been in a bit of a funk lately and slowly getting my head back into the game – just gotta put some of my thoughts, feelings, ideas etc. down on paper so to speak 🤪
Ditto
I know what you mean, Perry.
I enjoy your sense of humor. I hope your break fills you with motivation and inspiration.
Thank you, Cari.
Be sure to take it easy on your ‘breather day’, Mitch. 🙂
Actually, it’s only breather from blog traffic. I’ll be working on another project I’ve been trying to get to. But thanks, Mitzy!
Oh! Ok! Enjoy those projects, Mitch!
👍
Enjoy your sabbath — and thanks for the cancer cure 😉
;>)
I’m not writing anything in response to this post just so you don’t have to read it, Mitch. 😉
Got it, Sandy. Oops.
Enjoy your break, Mitch. Well deserved. 🙂
Thanks, T.
My pleasure.

Thanks, Emma. (This is not a comment ;>)
Enjoy the day away my friend!
Thanks, Gregory.
Oh my! Lions and tigers and bears, OH MY!

Everyone should deep-breathe. And to remind the self to do so.
Amen, Christopher.
I knew the end of the world was comming. How will we all survive? Have a great rest. 🤣😎🙃
;>) Thanks, Chris.
Good for you, Mitch. A wise decision I’m sure. And I do love your humor! 🙂
Aw, thank you, Diane.
I know all about blog burnout. Take good care of yourself, Mitch.
Will do, Rene.
Good for you, Mitch. Enjoy your well deserved blog break.
Thanks, Jennie.
You’re welcome, Mitch.
Love it, Mitch. Lol…

Love the way you post the blogs Mitch! Have a wonderful day 💐
Thank you, Ramani, you too!
Oh, so you just now found the cure for cancer? Pff … I did last week. And also, went to the gym, climbed Mt. Everest and wrote my 214th novel. You are getting slack in your later years, Mitch! 😉
;>)
Rest, I know the feeling.
You should check the kitchen junk drawer as well, you never know what you’ll find.
;>)
I’ve had to take many breaks through the years. It’s always worth it, Enjoy the respit.
