Thought for the Week
The term “casts out” in the original Greek means to displace, the process by which one thing replaces another, just as air displaces water in a submarine, causing the submarine to rise to the surface–because the two cannot occupy the same space at the same time. In the same way, God’s perfect love displaces fear, casting it out and taking its place–because fear and love cannot occupy the same space at the same time.
May you know that perfect love now, in the year to come, and always, dear friends.

🙏🙏🙏🙏
This will preach, Mitch! But, then again, I’ve seen a video of you speaking at your church. You could pass for a preacher.😉
;>) Thanks, David.
Thank you very much for sharing “Perfect Love” I mean perfect share at perfect time, the Lord loved us all so much that he sent his only son to this world to save us from eternal damnation;perfect love of the heavenly Father.I wish you a Merry Christmas. 🥰😊🙏❤️🌲
Thank you, and you too, Ashis.
You are most welcome. 🙏😊🥰
Truth! And with all the fear in our nation (and in the world) we need to lean on God’s love to remove our fears. I have been working on this myself. Good words Mitch!
Glad it spoke to you, Lisa!
Mitch,
That would be great. Fear has been haunting my doorstop. Happy New Year!
Gary
Thank you, Gary, and you too!
Yes!!! Such a helpful analogy!
So glad to hear that, Kara!
That’s powerful, Mitch, and the analogy of the submarine really drives it home!
Good!
Hello Mitch: As was said of the Navy Boats: “what goes down must come up” I washed out of the Nuclear boats because of my defective color vision. Just as well, the Thresher and the Scorpion went down about that time. Providence perhaps. Also love and hatred cannot co-exist Norm
Scary thought, Norm. My youthful Jules Verne images faded once I learned more about life in real submarines.
Where God’s perfect love is there is no fear! Jesus said: This is my commandment, Thay ye love one another as I have loved you. John 15:12
Amen, dear friend. God’s love and blessings to you and your precious family. Happy New Year, Mitch!
Thank you, dear friend, and the same to you–with everything that implies!
💚
Well said!
Thank you, Christian.
Thank you, Mitch! i wish the same for you!
Thanks, Ann!
I enjoy your posts, Mitch. I really appreciate this little lesson on 1 John 4:18. I decided I needed to copy it in my journal, then also wrote it on a sticky note and put it next to that verse in my Bible. Before the day is out, I will send it to a loved one who, like me, sometimes struggles with anxiety.
I wish you and yours a blessed and beautiful New Year. ~Cindie
So glad it spoke to you, Cindie. Wishing you a blessed and beautiful New Year as well.
Don’t know that I’ve ever heard this analogy for clarifying 1 John 4:18. Very helpful!
Glad to hear that, Nancy. And Happy New Year!
