It’s the end of November when my wife and I celebrate our yule log tradition:
Wife: “You’ll log off that computer right now and help me with the Christmas decorations, if you know what’s good for you!”
Me: (traditional festive response) “OK, honey.”
This (below) is our Thanksgiving Tree, btw, right before its transformation into a Christmas Tree. (My wife is the Holiday Queen. I’m simply the hired help, but am well-paid, I’m happy to report, in baked goodies and kisses.)

Mitch, the Thanksgiving tree sounds like a wonderful tradition. Love the sense of humor in the “you’ll log off the computer,” and the Yule log! 😀
Thanks, Hazel!
You’re welcome, Mitch!
Seen on T-shirt inside Disney World: “My wife wanted to go to DISNEY so we compromised and came to DISNEY.”
;>)
I live alone, and enjoyed having my son over on the Friday after Thanksgiving to help me get my patio lights up, and my trees done. I can do the rest without help, but it really is nicer when there’s help. Especially when the memories get to flow. ♥
Indeed, it’s all about the memories.
Yep!
👍👍👍
That tree is wonderful! So glad you have holiday traditions (including kisses and cookies). Happy Holidays!
Thanks, Belinda, you too!
Love your holiday humor and I’m a member of your wife’s’ Christmas decorating club!!!!
;>)
Beautiful tree!
Thank you, on my wife’s behalf, Priscilla.
I’ve never heard of a Thanksgiving tree, though I know plenty of people who can’t manage to wait until after Thanksgiving to put up their Christmas tree. It’s very pretty! Do you change it out for other holidays as well? My mother used to have us decorate a Valentine’s tree, but it was just a fallen branch from the yard placed in a bucket and decorated with paper hearts. I suspect it was more to keep us busy for a few hours than it was an actual ritual of observation for the holiday.
Smart mom. ;>) No, so far we haven’t extended it beyond Thanksgiving and Christmas, Sarah, but that gives us over two months of pine time.
Very nice. I have similar payment terms. Well played 😉
;>) Thanks, AJ.
Wow😍
Is your tree topper a turkey? If it isn’t, I apologize. 🙂
Hah, no, it’s a bow.
What a lovely tree!
That is one BEAUTIFUL tree!
Love the humour. Beautiful tree
That sounds great. Love the tree as well!
Hahaha, I love your sense of humor!
Thanks, Johan!
Beautiful
I love your definition of a yule log!
