Today is My 6th Blogiversary!

According to development experts, a healthy 6-year-old will:
- Speak in complete sentences of five to seven words. Actually, I’m working on getting it under 100 words: Q. “What’s that?” A. “Funny you should ask, because one day I was thinking about my teenage years when—oh, hey, did I ever tell you about when I was 15 and this guy came up to me and…?”
- Follow up to three commands at a time. My wife is helping with this.
- Understand jokes and puns, and express a sense of humor. Pretty much where I live.
- Focus on tasks for up to 15 minutes. See #2
- Know day from night and left from right. Honestly, I’ve kinda struggled with this since the lockdown began.
- Be able to tell time. Did I mention it’s my 6th Blogiversary?
- Dislike bullies. The internet is a scary place! There are mean people who call you bad words for not agreeing with them, and dark alleys full of internet trolls!
- Grow about 2 ½ inches per year. Odd, my doctor says I’m actually getting shorter.
- Become better at describing what they feel and think. Welcome to my blog!
- Try to show how big they are by doing things that might be dangerous. Like release two movies and a novel during a pandemic?
- Parenting Tip: Let them make their own choices about sports and toys. My wife has trouble with this one.
- Parenting Tip: Support their self-esteem and encourage them to express themselves. That’s where you come in, dear readers!
How has my blog changed in six years?
- I’ve gone from being the guy asking how to do this to the guy other people ask. ‘Cause I’m a big 6-year-old now!
- I’ve gone from being the guy with no followers to the guy who not only has followers, but has honest-to-God (and I do credit God for it) blogger friends!
- One thing hasn’t changed: My purpose is still to use the power of story to speak truth into people’s lives (including my own). Even if I do it with my tongue in my cheek.
So, thanks for six big years!
~Your friend,
Mitchtofer Robin (or just Mitch for short–see #8 above)

Congratulations!!
Thank you!
Happy bloGIVERsary, Mitch!

💃💃💃
Congratulations Mr Mitch.
My God-fearing mentor.
You inspire me a lot Sir.
Aw, thank you, Salem.
As a seasoned veteran maybe you can tell me, is it easier to blog with a mask on or off and has the letters on you keyboard wiped off with all the hand sanitizer you have been using? I am COVIDing my fellow bloggers advice – the Bible does not command against COVIDing does it? Congratulations! Be God’s and let Him use you (Rich Mullins would sign his early albums this way)
I like to think of my desk as a COVID-free zone. But beyond the house all bets are off. Thanks, Dave, and back at you!
Congratulations 🎉
Thank you.

Happy blog anniversary
Thanks, Sheree.
Thank you for blogging for six years! The world needs your blogs!
Regarding #8, I used to be 5’9″. Little old ladies used to approach me in stores and say “You’re nice and tall, would you please get that item off the top shelf for me?” Now I’m barely 5’7″. I am the little old lady looking for someone to reach the top shelf.
When I was six, I couldn’t wait to grow up. But now I am growing DOWN!
;>) Yup. Thanks, Linda! (You are one of those God-given blogger friends I mentioned.)
Awwww. Ditto!
Love your post! Happy anniversary!
Thank you!
Congratulations Mitch 😊 You’re one such inspiration for me to write!!
Aw, thank you, Ramya.

Congratulations Mitch! Looking forward to another six – I’m curious about the parenting tips for a 12 year old. LOL!
;>) Me too.
Happy Blogirthday! 6 wow 🤩
Thanks, Beck!
Happy Birthday! You’re a big boy now! 😉
;>)
Congratulations, big boy!
Your blog was a game changer for me, as I have told you before…
I had been plugging away at my fairly new blog, with a whopping 20 followers or so, when I decided this blogging thing was a waste of time. The very day I was going to shut it down I saw that you had read and “liked” something of mine and had started to follow me. When I looked up your blog and saw that you had 7,000 followers, I saw that as a sign. I read a few of your posts and loved them – I was hooked. I figured if someone of your caliber thought my stuff worth reading, I would continue writing posts. And I have. I’m nowhere close to your following, but at about 500 followers, I’m reaching out to way more people than I expected to a couple of years ago. And as you know, blogging also blesses us with friends we’ve never met, friends around the world. So glad you’re one of them.
I’m glad too, Annie. And happy to have encouraged you–you deserved it!
Congratulations sir!
I’m following your lead to be an amazing blogger.
Aw, thank you, Tega.
Inspiring. The old giving up temptation popped up in my head today and this is right on time.
Happy Blogiversary! Only six? Then a precocious six since you’re already in the Ivy League of spreading the good cheer. 🎉
Well, gosh, ma’am.
Yeah, old school marm coming through
Congrats! To many more!
Thanks, Mia!

Thank you, Alyson!
So glad you’ve kept the blog going, Mitch, in spite of other projects and responsibilities that require your time. I often wonder how you get it all done! (Little elves at night?!) Your blog is always a delightful surprise. We never know what you’ll serve up: wisdom, wonder, humor or a little of all three. Thank you for always making it worthwhile!
Aw, bless you, dear Nancy. Actually, my blog followers have been wonderfully supportive of all those other projects!
Happy Blog Birthday from Pooh and me and many others!–Christopher “Robin”

Congratualtions on turning six! You just think you’re so big (as they kids used to say when I was six).
Thank you, Liz, and, yeah, truth be told…
You’re welcome, Mitch. 😀
Congratulations Mitch! It’s good to know that you’re still speaking wittily, cleverly and clearly through your pandemic mask! Stay healthy, my friend!
Thanks, Tom, you too!
Congratulations on year six and on reaching important benchmarks for a healthy six-year-old! In the short time that I have been following your blog, I have found it to be creative, humorous, and thoughtful. This post included! Best wishes on six more successful blogging years.😀
Thank you, Michele.
You’re a BIG BOY now Mitchy, go forth and conquer the world. Happy 6’th, your friend on MD’s Eastern Shore, theRooster
Happy Blogiversary!!!
Thanks, Meonn!
Happy Anniversary … and a (cyber) hug … of course with a mask, unless you don’t like me to wear one…but I can if you rather me wear one … but of course it’s your site… so I’ll just elbow bump you … unless you are a hugger … but then … Here is a gift … I sterilized it for you. But you really don’t have to take it … I totally get it…. Well, I am glad we’re friends, Mitch.
Me too, Heidi. And I’m pretty sure cyber hugs are safe without masks, so feel free to anytime.
Congratulations, Mitch! I honestly don’t remember how I first discovered your blog, but I’m so glad I did. I look forward to many more of your posts!
I don’t remember either, Ann, but I’m glad we connected!
Congrats my friend! May the LORD bless you with six more! Blessings and Peace.
Thank you, Claudia. You too.
I’ve done six years too — I enjoy your blog. Keep on keeping on! Ann
Thank you, Ann. You too!
Congratulations 🎈🎉🎊
Thank you, Sean!
You’re welcome 😊
Congratulations, Mitchell! Great job. As Nancy said, I don’t know where you find time to post every day. I think I found you shortly after you started. I’m glad I found you.
Likewise, Bill, likewise. I’m privileged to think about and pray for you often.
Congratulations!! I liked the short poem you shared in the beginning. I learned I’m still in the crawling stagings, trying to learn how to walk haha (a 7 month blogger). Can’t wait to start walking.
Enjoy the adventure, Naomi!
Since you’re six years old, how did you develop followers/friendships? Reading other bloggers work, creating more and more authentic content?
Oh, yes, authentic content matters a lot, Naomi. Regarding: developing a following and friendship: On the WordPress Reader I search for blogs using tag words on topics I’ve written about. This helps me find bloggers with similar interests. I read a post or two of theirs and Like or comment on them. Many will respond by reading/liking one of my posts, and that’s how I build my following. Some of them disappear after a while, but others become friends through our reading and commenting on each other’s post, particularly the more personal ones.
I definitely agree with you on that one. I find that more people respond to blog posts they can relate to, personal ones like you mentioned. Although you won’t always know what people will respond to, it’s interesting. Thank you for your helpful response 😊
HaPpY Blog-Birthday Mitch!! 6 years, woot woot!! Your variety of posts make for fun reads (& sometimes very moving.) Eat some cake, or even better, CHOCOLATE! Blogging blessings! 🎉🎂🎶😎🎶🍫🎉
;>) Thanks, Virginia!
