Thought for the Week

Security is an illusion. Life is an adventure. It’s not about avoiding risks, but about taking the right ones for the right reasons.

“Why not go out on a limb?

That’s where the fruit is.”

  1. Love the truth and honesty in this one Mitch!

“Taking the right risks for the right reasons” indeed. Great wisdom in that one, Mitch! Here’s another quote to add to your collection: “Security is not the absence of danger but the presence of God no matter what the danger”–Unknown.

I have a strong aversion to taking risks. However, my husband and I noticed also my 3 sons are much more comfortable with taking them. Through the 50+ years of experiencing the good and bad outcomes of their choices, I am less unsettled. Certainly many of them have had great rewards.

  4. Great post Mitch. That is the way to live life.

  5. Bronlima says:

In 1979 i took the risk of giving up my job and travelling. Got stuck in Peru. Still here……but the adventures continue.

I believe ‘security’ is an illusion best left by the wayside. If we don’t want to risk, take a chance, jump at an opportunity…we are not alive. Those who critique us by attempting to put us in a narrow box defined by their rigidity, are the ones not living or living a lie. To be true to yourself, you take chances and experience changes. If you are the same person in your 60’s that you were at 18, wow. That says it all. Good quote!

Some good quotes! Taking risks is better lol
