I have an exciting announcement to make: After several long delays, I have not one but two books slated for release this autumn! And no two books could have less in common!
The novel Healing River is a gut-wrenching family drama based on my multi-award-winning feature film Healing River. My publisher plans to release it in time for the fall holiday season (dates and details to follow). Advance readers have called Healing River “profoundly moving,” and found it “impossible to put down.” In addition, like the current bestseller Theo of Golden, they’ve spoken of its power to change readers’ lives, and plan to buy multiple copies to give to their friends and family members.
Notzilla vs. Gorgo: The British Invasion is a graphic novel (fancy-schmancy comic book). It’s a sequel to the movie Notzilla, my “cult classic” comedy (MovieWeb), as well as my graphic novel Notzilla. Featuring Gorgo, the legendary British equivalent to Godzilla, it’s a spoof of classic “monster vs. monster” movies–with some crazy twists. It’s also a spot-on satire of the smashing mid-60s “British Invasion” era. The art team has the final draft of my text, and began work on the illustrations this week!
