How Full Is My Glass?

wallup.net

Ah, the incessant question:

Is my glass half empty or half full?

But the real question, I think, is Who’s filling it?

(or emptying it)

Therefore, I choose to see my glass

(if it’s really even mine)

as neither half empty nor half full, but as hopefull

No, wait—back behind that, I think, is the fact

that, in order for my glass to be any kind of full,

I must be prayerfull

No, wait—still further back than that is the fact

that I even have a glass

Which is pretty wonderfull

and that leads me to being gratefull

And so, I think, it all comes down to this:

If I’m being truthfull about wanting my glass to be full,

then I must empty it of myself and make room

for the One who made it

I think the question is also what do I want to fill it with? God’s will or mine? Happy Sunday!

  2. MAWilliamson says:

Mitch, each morning at 5am l thank Him for giving me the glass that He fills every day of my life. And l am never forgetting that! ✝️

  3. The answer to “describe this glass” is that it is too big for the amount of liquid it holds. What’s weird about our lives is this: No matter how much God pours into the glass, it doesn’t get full because he keeps increasing the size of the glass.

I hope that your glass is always hopefull Happy Sunday!

  6. Amen brother!

When God empties out all the stuff in our cup He fills us up with good things.

My cup/glass is full today and I’m greatful for all the cup fulls I have.

Have a great week ahead Mitch.

Glad to see that you’re feeling better. I like that glass. I think I will keep presenting mine to Him each morning, filled with all my willfulls, gratefulls, hopefulls and prayerfulls, so that He, in turn, can fill it with His own. (What a fight with my spell checker that was!)

  8. This is beautiful, Mitch, and very insightful! It speaks to my very soul. God bless you HUGE! 🙌🏻✝️❣️😊

  9. C.A. Post says:

With a background in medical sciences, we would conclude the so-called half-filled/half-empty glass is actually fully full- half with liquid and half with air.🧐
‘Course, then we scientists miss a lot of what is going on.😳

    So good 😊

  11. Best glass analogy yet! Thanks!

  12. Oona: “The real question is not, how full or empty is the glass; the real question is, how close is it to the edge of the table, and can Oona push it off before Mama or Dada stop her?”

  13. Thotaramani says:

May God Fill your glass with happiness, success and health Mitch! Yeah! should be Grateful for everything in Life.
