Everything Is a Miracle

All Things Are Possible

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” ~Albert Einstein

I was intrigued to learn that the word “possible” in Matthew 19:26 comes from the Greek root for power (dunamai), the same source as our word “dynamite.” Here it means to be empowered. We don’t make miracles, only God can do that. But he invites us to participate in the miraculous with him, and has empowered us to do so by planting the key in our hearts.

    I agree!

    A few years ago I posted that Albert Einstein quote about miracles and lost a couple of followers. The nitpicky Christian kind who like to find fault with every little thing. So now I can’t read that quote without laughing to myself and thinking “Some people really need to write a book called The Know-It-All’s Guide to Knowing It All.” 😉

    I find it impossible to look around at the complexity of this world and how well everything works together, not to mention the larger universe, and fail to see an intelligent mind behind it. If you listen to the documentaries about evolution, they will often use the word ‘designed’. Huh? How is something that is supposed to be random, designed?

    “There are only two ways to view people. One is as though to think a single person is not important. The other is as though to know every person is most significant.” (HV)

    I wonder if “possible” can also be interpreted as “within his (God’s) power.” I could see the idea that if it is within someone’s power to do something being translated as “possible.” This would mean something is possible, because He has the power to make it so. If so, this adds a nice wrinkle to your post. It seems a stronger statement to say that all things are within God’s power to do than to say with God it is possible.

    Wow, I had no idea nor ever thought of what the word comes from. But it makes so much sense. What you said about making miracles supports the thought that we need to enter the energy of God to co-create miracles due to the conscious use of universal laws. In that energy, we are in full awareness and understanding and it can never be abused. Thanks for the input, Mitch!

      I’m not sure what you mean by “enter the energy of God,” Erika. I wonder if we have a somewhat different understanding of what miracles are. I see, in a sense, two types: general miracles, the kind Einstein is referring to, and specific miracles, like those performed by Jesus and a few others in the Bible. But ultimately, all miracles are created by God.
