Thought for the Week
Don’t lose sight of your purpose.
Purpose always transcends circumstances. Yes, adjustments and even detours will need to be made along the way, but they too can be a part of fulfilling your purpose. If you’re doing what you’re called to do, being who you’re called to be, no political change, no economic disruption, no disasters–nothing will change your purpose. Stay the course!
“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that.”
~Galatians 6:4 (MSG)

What a wonderful reminder to start the week, thank you, Mitch!
My privilege, Dana!
Great post, great reminder, thanks
My privilege, L.G.
I appreciate the admonition, Mitch.
God’s blessings…
Thank you, and likewise, Chris.
You’re welcome, Mitch, and thank you!
When my husband divorced me, I was already an empty nester. I struggled with purpose. For 30 years I was a wife and mother. What was I now? It took 4 years of prayer but God answered. He gave me a new purpose and in the process I learned to trust Him even more.
I’m so glad you hung in there, Dede, and drew nearer to God in the process.
Perfect reminder, I needed this today, thank you.
My privilege, Kirsten.
Great reminder! Thanks for sharing.
My privilege, Gail.
Great advice. I am finding it very interesting to reflect on the whole subject of “purpose” now in retirement. I am discovering that my purpose may – or may not – be synonymous with my work.
Reflect on, my friend.
Your post reaffirms the memorable words of Admiral David Farragut at the Battle of Mobile Bay – “Damn the torpedoes. Full speed ahead!”
Indeed, Don, sometimes courage no more than an impulse that changes everything.
Thank you for sharing, Mitch.
My privilege, Andrew.
Purpose isn’t something circumstances can steal—only something we can choose to forget. When we stay rooted in who we’re called to be, even detours become part of the divine design. Beautiful reminder to walk faithfully and stay the course. 👍
Very well said.
👍
Energizing encouragement, Mitch. Thank you!
My privilege, Nancy.
Thank you for this Mitch. Some days, some words really resonate. This is one if those days and these are some of those words. Simple as they are I am quite empowered this morning.
I’m delighted to hear that, D.H.
My purpose is to drink eggfrapuuccinonogs….
Well, everyone has to have some kind of goal… ;>)
😀
This is a powerful reminder that purpose isn’t shaken by circumstances—it’s refined by them.
Your words anchor the reader back to calling, faith, and steady perseverance.
I’d value your reflections on my blog as well; purpose grows when shared in conversation. 🌱

Love this! Life may change, but purpose doesn’t. Thank you for speaking life and direction. 🌟
My pleasure, John.
Amen, Mitch. I wrote something related to purpose this morning as well.
I’ll check it out, Keith!
Great reminder for all, Mitch!
🧡
“Purpose transcends circumstance.” A powerful thought, Mitch. I lost my sense of purpose (for lack of saying it better) and have spent 2025 trying to find it. The good news is, I think I may finally have. I can vouch for how terrible it is to suddenly lose your “why.” Blessings 🙏
You too, my friend. 🧡
What a wonderful post, Mr. Mitch!!❤️❤️
Why thank you, Melissa.
Well said!
Thank you, Jennie.
You’re welcome, Mitch.
