I love architecture. Houses, office buildings, churches, museums–the beautiful and the bizarre. Just don’t bother me with the boring! What’s that? Haven’t finished your Christmas shopping yet? How about a nice new home or headquarters for your booming business? Here are some lovely prospects–many of them are for sale or for rent!

Fantastic!
These are terrific…and amazing. A few gave me waves of nausea…just looking at them…but somehow the crooked house in Poland speaks to me…just a little ‘off’ and funky. Right up my alley! And is it just me or does the ‘house attack’ image conjure “Wizard of Oz” vibes for anyone else? 😉
;>)
Turtle cafe provides great shelter.
Wow, they are incredible! The one that excited me the most was no.8, the stained glass tower.
These are pretty wild! I’ll take the Baba Yaga house as a writing studio for my backyard.
Yes!
Woww!!!
Wow, talk about creative designs!
Not nearly as exciting, but your post reminded me of this shoe repair place we have here. Kind of fun. (Not sure if the link will work, but I’ll try it).

Love it.
Just wow!
Crazy, it’s hard to believe some of these are real
No Boston City Hall? How can you leave out such a superb example of Brutalist architecture? LOL
I’ll have to look that up, Todd.
It’s brutal. https://en.wikiarquitectura.com/boston_city_hall_-_boston_ma_-_dsc04696-2/
Absolutely amazing buildings, Mitch. Are they all real? I’ve not seen any of these before.
Most are. The first one is an imaginary extension of a famous building in Moscow. The Crescent is an architectural rendering of a hotel that is/was slated to be built.
Once again you’ve found a topic that forces me to comment. Growing up in Cincinnati, I’ve always been fascinated with art deco design. In college I visited the Union Terminal and all its murals late at night. Later I found other art deco throughout Cincinnati.
I’ve also been fascinated with Frank Lloyd Wright’s work, tracking down some of his work in Indiana, and touring Fallingwater in Pennsylvania.
Keep posting different themes. I always enjoy them.
Hey Gary, good to hear from you. We do seem to have similar interests. Love art deco, and Frank Lloyd Wright too.
You will love the Hundertwasserhaus in Vienna, Austria. Gustav Klimt, the Austrian painter, who is also from Austria is perhaps more famous, but Friedensreich Hundertwasser should be as well. He not just paint, but designed an apartment complex. I have a feeling it might be right up your alley. I should write more posts about Austria.
Yes, I’d love to see those posts!
I want to live in the tea house. I love tea.
So amazing. I am always surprised that some of these structures have been built.
Amazingly creative!
Just beautiful pictures 😊👍🏻
That basket bldg has been haunting me ever since a coworker told me about it, and the price of the baskets the company made ($$$$$).
As you probably know, Leenda, after a long run as a popular collectible, they went under. Last I heard, the basket building was still up for sale. Interested? ;>)
NO!! I didn’t know they went under. My coworker paid something like $150 for a little 4×6 basket. And she had more baskets than that.
About ten years or so ago. Of course, the baskets still have some kind of value, but I don’t know how their collectible status has been effected.
That’s fun! The upside down houses make me think of E.E. Cummings poem, “anyone lived in a pretty how town.” It must be hard to sleep in those houses!
They don’t exactly shout “practical,” do they?
Haha, practical smactrical!
This is FAB!!! We have “the skinny house” in the next town, very interesting background story. If you’re interested, Google ‘skinny house, Mamaroneck NY’.
I will, Nancy!
Wow! Wouldn’t it be fun to travel around and see each one of these cool buildings in person?
Phenomenal architecture! Across the board-unbelievable skills to imagine and then build such mind-boggling structures! Thanks for sharing, Mitch.
My pleasure, Nancy.
Wow !!! Is this a collection or have you visited all/most!?? Amazing architecture and thereby people. Nice share.
No, it’s just a gallery of photos; I’ve only seen one of them personally (the basket building).
Ah, the basket building for sale. That is enormous. Odd buildings ,odd places to clean 🤣🤣🤣
Wow!
Imagination and ingenuity at work in such architecture. I’d enjoy seeing them all but don’t think I’d put up a Home Sweet Home sign. Thanks for posting these fascinating places!
My pleasure!
Mitch,
Love the creativity. Fun stuff. Can you imagine what houses in the New Jerusalem will look like? Hope all is well. Merry Christmas, Gary
All is well, thank you, and for you too, I trust. Merry Christmas, Gary.
Great. And a Happy New Year.
funny…
