Bee Happy

I found a bee in my house. The poor thing was weak, struggling to move. So I picked it up. It barely budged. I was going to put it out of its misery, but then I thought, “Wait, why not let it spend its final few minutes in the sunlight?” I know I would want that, even if I wasn’t a bee (which I’m not).

So I took it outside and tried putting it on a leaf, but it refused to leave my finger. So I prayed for the bee (because, yeah, I’m that mushy), and after I said, “Amen,” it flew away!

OK, so maybe it wasn’t a real miracle. But it was miracle-ish, right? Maybe a miracle of timing (which, in a sense, all miracles are). Anyway, whatever it was, it made my day.

And the bee’s.

The End.

Mitch–this is sweeter than honey. I’m mushy that way–and the little miracles truly are the big ones!! You’re the bees’ knees!!💛

that’s so sweet. The bee whisperer.

  3. Kindness to all creatures is the sign of a lovely human. Thank you! Sometimes when I see a bee like that, I bring out a shallow dish of water because here in SoCal, it’s very hot and dry. They are able to drink a bit and buzz away.

The miracle is that you didn’t kill it … You saved it. I believe it needed Sun, insects move in the warmth… It was probably just enough to help it get some nectar! That’s wonderful! You go bee mushy!

Miracles come in all sizes and God wants us to look for them and be blessed by them. I’d say you and the bee were both blessed by the experience.

Good for you, Mitch. I’m a bee lover from way back. My house is surrounded by blooming plants, put there just for my wee buddies. I’ve been stung a few times, but they are mostly docile and friendly. My wife, Momo calls me the bug whisperer. You must be one too.

Very nice. I’m reading a novel called The Bees—Watership Downish with bees🌸

  12. So sweet… I love your mushiness! I have been accused of the same…by my best friend in high school and many friends since. So, what’s the matter with that? Absolutely NOTHING!!! Mush on, my friend, mush on!!! It worked for the bee, and I’m guessing for many lives you touch through your life and blogs every day. So yes, mush on!!! ☺️

  14. Lovely story! I chat with bees and bugs and critters all the time. But not spiders. I tell them if they don’t get out of my house or hide from my sight, I’ll smash their guts out. Thanks for sharing this little miracle of nature, Mitch. 🙂
