Thought for the Week
Perhaps never before has our world been so full of people who’ve forgotten how to be themselves. Be the one who shows them.
“Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s about the choice to show up and be real…to be honest…to let our true selves be seen.”
“In order to be, never try to seem.”
“Be ready always to give an answer to anyone who demands to know the reason for the hope that is in you.”
“Judas could not face his shadow–Peter could. The latter befriended the impostor within; the former raged against him.”
“You’ll never know who you are unless you shed who you pretend to be.”
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.”

Hmm, so apparently Nathaniel Hawthorne never worked in retail sales?! Just kidding. Nice round up, Mitch.
;>) Thanks, Gabrielle.
YES! Perfect quotes and inspiration! Thank you for being the REAL DEAL, dear friend!
LIKEWISE, Karla!
Aww…thank you, Mitch. You’re so thoughtful!!!
Fascinating collection of wise quotes!
Albert Camus packs a punch in his brief statement. 🙂
Excellent advice… Can never hear it enough. Truth be told, my mom always used to say, “Be yourself, Doreen.” The problem was, for years, I didn’t know who that was… Not until I found my identity in Christ. It was a journey, and from your various memoirs, I’m a-thinkin’ it was for you too… 🤔💭😅
It was indeed, Dori. We may not be done growing yet, but at least we know Whose image we’re growing into.
Oh, we sure don’t… and yes, keeping our eyes on The Prize! 🥹 Thank you for all you share! Truly appreciated!!! ☺️
An important reminder, Mitch. Thanks.
My pleasure, Rosaliene.
YES.
Yeah, being real is easier now that I am much older. I was afraid to be me as a young adult. In high school though, I was somewhat of a misfit, but I was the real me. I wrote a poem back then called, “Just Be”. This post reminded me of that poem.
I like 1 Peter 3:5. Thanks for sharing, Mitch.
My privilege, San. That’s a favorite verse of mine too.
Wise words for us all. Thanks, Mitch.
My privilege, Russell.
These are perfect quotes. Thank you for sharing this idea. Anita
My pleasure, Anita.
Wisdom and truth! Thanks, Mitch.
My pleasure, Peggy!
Thanks for a great quote for my classroom, Mitch! God bless!
My pleasure, Nancy. Which one, btw?
Hawthorne and the spiritual journey.
As far as being real goes Mitch for years I was faking it to make it. Until I got serious with God and asked him to change my heart and put me back together I didn’t have every desire satisfied in His love I was not being real.
We were not meant to live in fear for our God did not give us a spirit of fear.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7
Amen, Cora.
Amen!
IMO keeping our eyes on the prize is knowing what our expected end is. As Christians we know that we will live forever with God.
Everyone, have a great rest of the week!
