Have you ever moved, almost without realizing it, from learning about another’s burdens to helping carry them?  Indeed, if we don’t share one another’s burdens, are we fully alive?

Your quote is personally a “double edge sword” for me…..I carry other’s burdens too much so. I care deeply about others and have been a major advocate for the abused and down-trodden for years, but it’s been a costly journey, because there are times that I have done so at a physical expense to my own personal health and well-being. Age has taught me that caring is important, but that we need to set personal (healthy) boundaries, first and foremost, before we go out into the world and “share in another’s burdens”…… <3

Lucie, are there those who share your burdens, as well? Either way, I know what you mean about setting boundaries.

I was a special education teacher of emotional fragile and behavior troubled youth for many years.
And there were loving, caring individuals that shared the burdens,Mitch, but for me it just got a bit much and I had to take an early retirement. Unfortunately for me, I had a hard time leaving my work at work…..the kids kinda get to you after awhile and the current support system for the kind of kids I was working with was very limited……

I understand. A subject for prayer.
