What’s Wrong With These Pictures?

It’s Good Friday, the day people throughout the world commemorate the most impactful death in human history. And yet, if these images, and even the suffering they depict, are all we see, then something’s wrong with every single one of them. What?

It should have been us.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” ~Romans 3:23

“But God proves his love for us in this: that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” ~Romans 5:8

“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” ~John 15:13

Yes, it was a cruel and barbarous death. But if we grasp it’s meaning for us, then it truly was — and is — a Good Friday.

What a profound post … in so few words. Absolutely lovely.

It’s sad that the man trying to make a buck selling Bibles to pay his legal fees doesn’t understand & will NEVER see the beauty of these pictures & the deep & abiding meaning behind them. Those of us that do share a wondrous blessing.

    Happy Easter

Absolutely, Mitch. Like the dream I had many years ago where I was witnessing the Crucifixion and then found myself participating in it. I’ve never forgotten that dream.
