Great poem!
Thanks, Ron!
Maybe I’m taking your poem too literally, but you aren’t kidding about the sultry and blazing this year. If I didn’t know better I would have thought someone transplanted me back to Florida! Yet when summer is gone — the jacket-free days of grilling, early morning quiet time on the deck, trips to the water park with our granddaughter — we’ll comment as we always do, where did it go? Of course, you said it MUCH better!!
A distillation of memories rather than any one year, Nancy. Thanks!
Beautifully written sentiments with a lovely photo…… 😉
Thank you, Lucie! (I can’t take credit for the photo, though; it is beautiful, isn’t it?)
You wrote about my garden. How do you know? You were not here. Great poem. Thank you for the visit again and like my new post. I read Thomas Merton’s writing this morning.
Love Merton.
I also read Thomas Kelly (193-1941). In A Testament of Devotion, he said, “Deep within us all there is an amazing inner sanctuary of the soul….. to which we may continuously return…”
