My Thanksgiving prayer is for perfect peace,
for atheists, Christians, Muslims, Jews…
for all to sit down at a glorious feast
upon hearing the most incomparable news
of a king who can make us sisters and brothers,
forgiving our foolish, desperate paths,
and pave the way for an us made from “others.”
Forever his perfect peace may it last.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.”
~Matthew 5:9

I’m just seeing this, (literally – I had eye surgery that restored my eyesight, thank G-d) and it smacks as just as applicable today on Christmas Eve and just ahead of the first of eight candles for Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights.
