In Celebration of Weirdness

“Some are born weird, some achieve it, others have weirdness thrust upon them.”    ~Dick Francis

“I am an artist you know…it is my right to be odd.” ~E.A. Bucchianeri

“I am weird, you are weird. Everyone in this world is weird. One day two people come together in mutual weirdness and fall in love.” ~Dr. Seuss

“If you think people in your life are normal, then you undoubtedly have not spent any time getting to know the abnormal side of them.” ~Shannon L. Alder

“There is no such thing as a weird human being. It’s just that some people require more understanding than others.” ~Tom Robbins

  1. Different strokes for different folks ….. but, those toenails gotta go! She can’t possibly wear shoes or even walk. Ay caramba!

  2. Ezekiel Fish says:

We’re all weird in our own way, and that’s perfectly alright.

  3. Ernie 'Dawg' says:

Couldn’t quite make out the weird predator. This is a cool and fun post.

  4. We’re all uniquely weird. We don’t have to do anything else to make ourselves more weird. Off with the crazy beards! 🙂

  5. Erika says:

OMG! What a collection! Some are not only weird but already pretty creepy.

  6. L.G. says:

  8. Thanks for posting this, Mitch. I may save it to take a peek at next time I’m feeling weird. 🙂

  9. K.L. Hale says:

I’m feeling very very average, Mitch! It takes all kinds! I love it all (particularly Teddy’s Moose!) 🫎 I pray you are doing well, dear friend. Many blessings!

The 2nd one, the pointy-beard man, I recognize as a guy who goes by Mr Incredibeard. He’s been around a long time and fixes his beard in all kinds of weird and funny ways- like a basket with fruit or an octopus crawling on his face.. done for charity fundraising.
I read somewhere once – ‘It doesn’t take all kinds, we just have all kinds anyway’.

  11. Edward Ortiz says:

Quite a collection of weirdness. I’m not sure I completely agree with Tom Robbins, but maybe I just need to work on my understanding.

  12. Whats normal is my question, I’ve only ever seen weird to measure by.

  13. beth says:

    who’s to say what’s weird?

  14. Anonymous says:

Good stuff, Mitch. My life could use a little more weirdness.

  15. Dawn says:

    Wow! Just “Wow!”

  16. SanVercell says:

Weirdness on a whole new level. I may have certain visions rolling around in my head all weekend. By the way, I have never wanted a facial bad enough to have snails and snakes crawling all over my face. Beauty takes on a whole new meaning. Thanks for sharing, Mitch.

  17. Mitch, loved this—proof the world runs on the strong coffee of “weird.” Honestly, I feel under-qualified for normal. My rule of thumb:

If it makes a great dinner story, it wasn’t a mistake.

“Why is this happening?” is just the prequel to “You won’t believe what happened.”

Weird people are the spice rack; normal is plain toast.

Thanks for the laugh—and the reminder to keep my antenna tuned to the odd and wonderful.

  18. C.A. Post says:

Your “unknown” quote is from Steven Covey.😉

  19. In the blog, I used to put a watermelon helmet on Dennis back in the day when he was about to do something dangerous or foolhardy. Which happened a lot lol
