The Tequila Talking

Drunk and Depressed - Minton Sparks (weandthecolor.com)Image by Minton Sparks

CaptureNot all Christmas gatherings are joyful. My Featured Blogger this week is Alexis Ryder of Stories I’ve Never Told. A gifted Canadian writer who draws from her own life and journals, turning her experiences into semi-fictional stories, Alexis (whose name is also at least partly fictional) never fails to intrigue and compel us. This raw, anything-but-joyful family Christmas account is a reminder that, as Thoreau put it, most people live “lives of quiet desperation.”

  1. Hello Alexis. I’m glad you opted to tell your story (in spite of that “never” in your title). While some readers would like to believe that smiley face, make-believe rules supreme (especially during the holidays), your characters and storyline serve up a refreshingly honest slice of life to feast upon. If you’re not already a published author on a book signing tour, you will be soon.

    Happy Holidays! Stay Well!
