Encourage Each Other

Thought for the Week

Brooding about our past

and worrying about our future

is the most efficient way

to poison our present.

So

instead

let us

“Encourage each other every day,

while it is still called today.”

~Hebrews 3:13

    “Today” is sometimes a slippery hump to stand on, but it is the highest point from which to see clearly. It’s terribly hard for me to live in the moment but not sure why?? I really like that verse.

    Mitch, thank you so much for sharing these power-packed words of truth from God’s Word! It’s entirely too easy to focus on our past, which only creates that worry for our future. Yet, when we stop and think — how much precious time and energy are we wasting? Most of our worries never even come to pass. It’s one of the greatest weapons our adversary uses against us. If the devil can get us focused on what we *can’t* change — we won’t be focused on what we *can* change.

    You’ve reminded me of one of Corrie ten Boom’s famous quotes: “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its troubles; it empties today of its strength.” I have a feeling if we use today’s strength to encourage others, it will multiply, not diminish!
