Autumn is finally upon us, at least in the northern hemisphere (if you’re south of the equator, I hope your spring is springing beautifully!). Here are some images evoking “summtumn,” the transition from summer to autumn, some by me (my wife and I visited with the big, gentle trolls below at the Aullwood Audubon Center in Dayton, Ohio, last weekend). Happy Equinox!

Beautiful pictures of our part of the world getting ready for winter’s rest.
My favorite season, and you captured it well.
Thank you, Dodi.
Autumn is such a wonderful time of the year!!
It is truly my favorite season of the year… along with Winter and Spring as close seconds…so NOT a summer person! Can you tell!?! 😅 Thank you for the beautiful pics! 🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁
My pleasure, Dori!
Love these pics and summtumn … I
Might have to borrow that phrase Mitch. Is that ok?💕
Yes, but you’ll need to say, “Copyright by Mitch Teemley” and then immediately mail me a check for $1 every time you use it. ;>)
Beautiful. I especially like the wood sculptures!
Aren’t those delightful? They were created by a Danish artist named Thomas Dambo who has placed them in countries all over the world.
Beautiful collection of Autumn images, Mitch.
It was good to see a NH photo!
Unbelievable photos. What an amazing place to visit❤️
You gotta love those trolls!
Autumn is breathtakingly beautiful, as you’ve shown with these awesome fall images, but I wish the brilliant colors would stay on the trees longer. 🙂
Me too!
Love those trolls!
Thanks, Nony (Anonymous ;>).
Stunning pictures – I love this time of year and the change in season
Beautiful photos. This is my favorite time of year. Wish it could last longer!
Heck, I’d be happy if it stayed fall like weather all year round, LOL!
Me also!
The most beautiful time of year!
My favorite fall moments are in the cool of early morning when the mist gathers over the ponds and in the trees. You’ve included several such scenes here. So lovely, peaceful, and still!
Me too, Nancy.
Love the images of my favorite time of year!
Very nice pictures Mitch. The very first picture of the fractal inspired me to think on some new ideas for a fall piece of art work. It’s cooler here now and the change in weather is warmly welcomed! Have the leaves on the trees started to show all their autumn colors where you are yet?
Just beginning.
That was me asking if the leaves on the trees were showing their autumn colors yet. Not sure why I wasn’t prompted to log in to WP? Instead it accepted my post and made my comment anonymous. Anyway, Love the pic’s!
Hi Cora. Yeah, WP’s been doing a lot of that kind of thing lately.
Thanks for letting me know.
Hope your weekend is going well.
I’ve never written to an ADMIN at WP before. If it continues I think I’ll contact them. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for the details.
Great photos
On behalf of myself and others, thank you.
Beautiful images of a beautiful season. I think it is the fleetingness of “summtumn” (love that word!) that makes it so special and sweet.
I agree, Russell.
I love the fungi photos in particular. I have never seen a red capped mushroom in real life, only in photos.
Same for me.
