Speaking the Truth

God is love. Hence, if we do not speak out of love, we do not speak for God. Period.

Not exactly a holiday message. But then again, maybe it is. May you be blessed by knowing, giving and receiving true love this season–and always–dear friends (1 John 4:8).

  1. What a simple sentiment and for me the core of what religion is. Though in my case, it is the exact opposite. Love is God.

      If you mean the word the scriptures use (agapao in the Greek), which means a selfless, perfect form of love, then yes, I would agree, Jon. It’s when we try and reduce God to some lesser idea of “love” that we board the bus to idolatry (“sex is God,” “my job is God,” “golf is God”).
