Overlooked

Some of my friends’ birthdays fall on or near Christmas day and so, sadly, they tend to be overlooked.

Take my friend Jesus, for example.

    Talk about tight-and-right writingI Well done, Mitch! I happen to be one of those born just before Christmas. Years ago as a child, my attitude could easily sink into self-pity because my birthday did seem to receive less fanfare than others. My mother suggested I celebrate my half-birthdays in June, but that didn’t appeal to me either. About 15 years ago I met a boy born ON Christmas Day. His response so impressed me: “I feel honored to share my birthday with Jesus!” Now THERE’s the attitude for us December-born to embrace!
