Merry Two Christmases!

In Him We Live

Because without His gifts of life and redemption there would be nothing to celebrate, but with them there is everything!

And so this year, and every year, I wish you a

We celebrate a primarily secular Christmas and I make a point of recognizing my Jewish, Muslim, agnostic, and atheist friends this time of year with gifts, cards, and a “Happy Holidays!” And many respond in kind. So, respectfully, the first sentence isn’t imperative for the second, and Jesus is not the only reason for the season. But since I know you’re a Christian, Mitch, I hope you had a Merry Christmas!

Hi Pete, we did, thank you, and good to hear from you! I’m well aware that non-believers celebrate a secular Christmas, and don’t find “the first sentence imperative for the second” (that was the culture I grew up in). That’s why I referred in my post to what “believers” and “we” (I’m a convert) do. “Christmas” literally means “Christ’s sending,” and that’s what my family and I celebrate, along with gift-giving and good cheer with our non-believing friends, as well. And while we’re at it, Happy New Year, my friend!
