Thinking this through, I agree. I hope I remember. To grow in any virtue one has to reach the place of testing which will demand some courage to go further. Mitch, I’ve added nothing to what you and Lewis gave me, but I have placed it in my brain – now to my behavior….

  2. Mr. Ramdolfi says:

Great quote, Mitch! Happy Memorial Day!

  3. A lot of us have people cared about on THE WALL…Thank you for a very appropriate reminder of the fallen who are behind the names!

  4. Reblogged this on By the Mighty Mumford and commented:
A WALL OF REMEMBRANCE–REAL PEOPLE CHOSE TO FIGHT AND DIE…AND BE REMEMBERED WITH HONOR!

  5. My husband served two years in Viet Nam. He visited the Wall once and cannot go back. His class at West Point has too many people on the Wall.

  6. gpavants says:

    HI Mitch,

    You, too brother.

    In Christ,

    Gary

  7. This post’s image evokes my own take on Memorial Day: sadness tinted with pride and gratitude.

  8. What a great line. Also, though I am not an American, I have to say that when I visited the Vietnam memorial some 30 years ago, I was overcome with emotion in touching the names of so many people. The thing that got me was seeing my reflection in the face/names of the war dead. Thanks for your post.
