In a False World, Be Real
“From your precepts, I gain true understanding. Therefore, I hate every false way. Your word alone is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” ~Psalm 119:104-105
In a false world,
don’t just talk about what’s real,
show it.
Be it.

I’ve always said, “Actions speak louder than words.”
Great quote!
Thank you for this good post, Mitch. In it you mention smog in Southern California. I grew up about 30 miles east of L.A. in West Covina. When I was in Junior High School, some days were so bad that when we finished P.E. our lungs hurt because of the pollution in the air. I don’t ever remember them calling off P.E. because of the smog but I remember them having to do that after I was beyond Junior High.

“When Jesus and the Apostles quote the Old Testament, they’re doing it from memory (most people wouldn’t own a copy of the Bible for another 1,600 years!).
Nowadays, we can own as many copies as we like, or simply read it online.”
This is so true. Today, we have better access to God’s Word and relating resources than ever before and our culture certainly doesn’t seem to be taking advantage of that. Society seems less literate when it comes to the Bible than at any other time in my lifetime.
God’s blessings…
Sadly, I’d have to agree, Chris.
There is no reason or true benefit in being false. It may mask reality, but it does not and cannot change it.
Can you imagine how great life would become if we all dropped our fakeness and became real?
Yes!
Amen.
So much on social media makes it look like life is great, but it is so phony. Something to think about for sure. I love that verse from psalms.
In short, practice what we preach.
Yep.
