Dr. Doolittle was right. “If we could talk to the animals, what a lovely place the world would be.” Well, they’re talking! The real question is: Are we listening?
P.S. Don’t miss the quotes after the images.

Bam! Nailed it! May I reblog?
Of course, Kimberly.
Amen to that! I talk to animals all the time. We can learn a lot from them and all of nature.
❤️

So many people think I am weird because I talk with animals
When they watch us they swear we are having a conversation ( which we are ). I have always had a good connection with animals
I really do believe that’s the way it’s supposed to be, my friend.
Great to share! Animals are sending messages all the time, as we are. Hmm, they’re probably better at listening than we are. I find it interesting and hopeful how responsive animals can be to anything relational from us. Taking care not to get bit. Whoever’s biting.
;>)
Thanks for these mentally rejuvenating images and quotes, Mitch. 🙂
My pleasure, Nancy.
Darn straight, they are. And no, we’re not.
Thanks for your like of my post, ” Jews Regathered – Ezekiel Chapter 1;” you are very kind.
The pictures and quotes are fabulous!
I’m so glad you enjoyed them, Donna!
Thanks Mitch, we both loved so many of these priceless photos.
Delighted to hear that, Pete.
Sadly, we don’t have that ability. Even though telepathy would have done the trick
All the love! Thank you Mitch – what a great boost❤️.

It would be so interesting to talk to animals.
Yes! There are ways other than words, of course, Vanya.
Wow! This is so enjoyable. Loved the captions you have put to each image. Animals are the cutest 🤭🥹😍🥰
So glad you enjoyed it, Shreya.
Love that Groucho quote 😅
Yep, it’s a classic, Matt.
So cute! Love it! 😊😆
Adorable creatures, Mitch!

The cats expression in the first one made me think the Monkey was trying to strangle him. Lol
;>)
Yes, Doctor Dolittle was right!
This is a great post and yes if only we would listen or realise how important to us is nature with all its diversity.
I couldn’t agree more, Geogina.
💜
I used to talk to my cat all the time to the point the neighbours found her comical I’d say to her are you coming in or not she’d meow neooow as in no lol I’d wait five minutes I’d say it’s bed time I’m closing the door she meows neoooow ow ow (growling at the end) she’s been stolen since April 4th 2024
Excellent post and quotes. I think James Harriot’s about the souls of animals is my favorite. Animals talk to us in many ways. For human souls to grow, we must listen and open our eyes to their suffering and their goodness. I’d like to reblog this, too.
Sorry I didn’t reply sooner, Joanna. Yes, feel free to reblog this post.
This is great, Mitch! I love the Beryl Markham quote. I read her book ages ago, but had forgotten this in particular. Thanks for reminding me! If you haven’t read “West With the Night,” I cannot recommend it enough!
I love the photo of the bats, too! At our old place, we had tons of bats roosting under the eves of our decks. We loved them! We’d sit out during the “batting hour” and watch them fly out to hunt for the night. A couple times, we rescued bats — one who got pressure-washed out of their roost (hypothermic, and I still don’t know how I got the propane heater started with one hand. It was a bat-focused miracle.), and one who was a nursing baby. We made a perch of a cottage cheese container lined with paper towel, placed it up near the roost, and in the night, the mom came and got her baby. They are amazing!
I’m subscribed to your site, but haven’t been getting notifications. Grrrr….. I’ll check into this.
Wonderful bat stories, Camilla. Sorry to hear about the subscription issue. WordPress has been doing that a lot lately.
Interesting and adorable photos.
