Home for the Holidays

We woke up to snow this morning. So, on the one hand we’ll have a white Christmas. Yay! On the other hand, as soon as I’m done posting this, I have go out and shovel our driveway in -8° weather with a wind chill factor of -31° — the coldest Christmas on record where we live. Um, bah humbug? Still, “the kids” will arrive tomorrow morning and they’ll need a place to park their gift-laden sleigh (the four cylinder automatic transmission kind). So I have to man-up and face the elements. Because, like love, Christmas doesn’t just show-up — you have to make a way for it.

Ga. is -4 wind chill and 15 degrees, that’s cold enough! Glad I’m not where you are. Merry Christmas.

  3. Beautiful photographs. We have the same weather here in minnesota – aka Lake Woebegone. Our kids are flying in from S. Carolina and the whole family will be together. Merriest of Christmases to you and yours and much success in the new year.

If you shovel today and they aren’t coming until tomorrow, you’ll only have to shovel again. I love the pics; make me think of our recent trip to Hawaii. Safe travels for the kids (they’ll always be your kids) and safe shovelling for you. Blessings!

  5. And I thought -9C was cold the other night! I’m in the UK, so it was cold for us. But your temperatures with the windchill, too, must be unbearable. Hope you’ve got thick boots and a warm coat on. I love the photos, also; they are beautiful. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Mitch, and I hope the New Year is a good one for you 🎄.

  6. A torrential rain storm has melted all our pre-Christmas snow. Then tonight, everything is going to freeze. Enjoy your Christmas with your family, Mitch!

I loved the angels on your mantel picture. Lovely display. I adore this time of year and the cold is just what I need to keep me baking and giving the house that smell of Christmas. Thanks so much Mitch!

Beautiful images! Stay warm! It is bitterly cold! Crazy temps! Hope you had a wonderful cup of something hot to drink when you came back in from shoveling. 🙂

  13. My favorite photo is the view of Mount Fuji. Another blogger today said, “Christmas is more about presence than presents.” ❤️ Enjoy the holiday with your family, brother. Merry Christmas. 🎄 ✝️

  16. The photos you shared make me want to embrace the frigid powdery snow I see outside my window, but I think I’ll stay in the house!

  17. Happy shoveling, and stay as warm as you can.

Stay warm out there. Happy Holidays to you.

  19. Merry Christmas, Mitch. I finally got to turn the water back on in the back bathroom. Too cold for the pipes. Strange weather this year. God bless!
