A Filmmaker’s Journal

My multi-award-winning affectionate send-up of old monster movies Notzilla has finally arrived! Here’s the story in a nutshell, or, well, a beer can:
Yomama Bay, 1962. While the Japanese armed forces destroy yet another giant kaiju, a young paleontologist, Prof. Hiro Honda, rescues her offspring, whisking the mysterious red egg off to safety in friendly Cincinnati, Ohio (Ohio means “hello!” in Japanese).
However, as the jet arrives, he accidentally flushes the egg down the toilet. It disappears into the Ohio River just as a group of physicists, led by the brilliant (or maybe not) Dr. Richard Blowheart, are testing “uber-fission” power at SNUGI, the Secret Nuclear Underground Government Installation 500 stories beneath the city of Cincinnati.
Shaken loose by testing, the egg is quickly discovered by Blowheart and his brilliant (and sorta gorgeous) assistant, Dr. Shirley Yujest. The two soon meet Prof. Honda, who tells them that the egg contains a living Notzillasaurus Partiontilldon. The creature will remain small, he explains, as long as it is not exposed to alcohol. But if it is, it will grow hundreds of times larger (naturally) and attack the nearest city!
Get your roar on! You can watch Notzilla at Amazon (no membership required), Vimeo-On-Demand or Google Play! Or order DVD or Blu-Ray here.

Thank you, Francis.
Most welcome.🌹👍🙏
Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!! I need a good funny horror movie right now. 😀
Who doesn’t?!
Ohio, Mitch! Can’t wait to see it! 👀 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Sounds like a fun scare.
No scares here, I’m afraid, just laughs. ;>)
I use to work with a guy who would attack cities when exposed to alcohol. He spent a lot of time talking to doctors and police officers …
;>)
Ha ha, good one!
Excellent! Thrilled for you!
Thank you, Crystal!
Cool…I’ll be watching soon…thanks Mitch!
Great, Max!

Excellent! “Is it reptilian? No, it might be a Democrat.” Classic. Congratulations, Mitch. Can’t wait to see this.
Thanks, Russ!
Another excited fan here looking forward to seeing Notzilla in action!
Get your roar on, Nancy!
Looking forward to watching this Mitch! Congratulations.
Thank you, Shirley!
Thrilling adventure
I was already laughing at the synopsis when I got to the parody of binomials in sort-of Latin. I ordered the DVD as soon the hysterics subsided.
Are you mocking my species-naming skills, Barry? Delighted to hear it. Enjoy the movie!
I’ve seen a lot of binomials that retrofit various modern languages into Latin. While most are clunky and unpronounceable, some are apt and funny. Your monster’s imagined name really is much like the best of the real ones.
Speaking of names, my legal name was inflicted by my parents. Online, I prefer to go by the deliberate oxymoron I chose for blogging. Please call me “Mellow” (or just “Mel”).
Gotcha, Mel. I’d use your Latin name, but…
