We are born in the shadow of death. No one gets out of here alive. But 2,000 years ago, Jesus signed Death’s death warrant.
On the night before his crucifixion he taught his disciples to live in the light of this new reality. Breaking bread, he handed it to them and said, “I am offering myself in your place, so that you might live. Never forget this” (Luke 22:19–paraphrase).
Shadows have no substance. They are made by the absence of light. It’s your choice whether to live in death’s shadow, or step into the light of freedom. “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if they die, will live” (John 11:25).
“Gina stared at her little brother. He looked free. No, something more complicated than that—“freed,” like someone who’d been completely forgiven. And it suddenly occurred to her that being forgiven was far better than insisting you didn’t need to be forgiven. It was true freedom.”
~The Wishing Map

If Jesus is the way we can’t get lost.
If Jesus is the truth we can’t be decived.
And if Jesus is the life the devil can’t kill us.
Just my 2 cents on how I look it.
Another lovely & timely post reminding us of the reason for celebration at Easter. It also puts emphasis on the beauty of the promise we live with, should we decide to accept it. And that’s what FAITH is, after all … believing with our whole heart & rejoicing in it.
Thank You, Jesus!
I love the quote about true freedom, Mitch.
Have a blessed Resurrection Day.
You too, Annie!
Ooo! I love that connection from Jesus to the Wishing Map, and the of forgiveness to free oneself. Did you know that there’s a novel about Joy Davidman – Becoming Mrs. Lewis? I put it on my to do list! Thought you might be interested.
Interesting, Joanne, sounds like it would be a memoir. At any rate, I’ll definitely check it out.
Thank you for sharing!
My privilege, Cadee!
